DS 450 Racers Earn Four of Top Seven Pro Class Spots; Pro-Am Class Win

Valcourt, Québec, July 15, 2014 – Can-Am® DS 450™ racer Jeffrey Rastrelli earned his first career Pro class podium by finishing third at round seven of the 2014 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship Series held in New York. Rastrelli, also the Pro-Am class winner, and three other Can-Am DS 450 Pros secured four of the top-seven finishing spots in Pro class at Unadilla Motorsports Park in New Berlin, N.Y.

“Can-Am DS 450 racers definitely showed off their talents, winning the fastest qualifier award, grabbing the moto two holeshot and leading a portion of both Pro class motos at Unadilla in New York,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “Jeffrey Rastrelli continued to impress with a good starts, excellent consistency and a career-best third-place podium finish. To have four racers in the top seven is certainly an accomplishment. They all continue to push hard for the podium and deserve praise for their efforts.”

Round seven, the NYCM Insurance Northeastern ATV National, of the AMA-sanctioned Mtn. Dew ATV MX series was held at the fabulous Unadilla Motorsports facility, a natural-terrain motocross course located on the rolling hills outside of New Berlin, N.Y.

For Can-Am, the day started with JB Racing / DWT / Mtn. Dew Live Wire / Can-Am Pro Joel Hetrick earning the Fastest Qualifier award aboard his DS 450 ATV. Jeffrey Rastrelli was in the spotlight all day, as the JB Racing / Cheerwine / Can-Am Pro pulled off two great starts to contend for a spot on the podium. Rastrelli ended up with his first Pro class podium finish, earning third overall at Unadilla. He started the podium chase by grabbing the second spot at the gate drop in the first moto. He later led a lap of that moto before dropping back one spot to take second. In moto two, Rastrelli started fourth and held that... [Read More]

ATV MX Nationals

Bryan Buckhannon Wins Morning Overall at Snowshoe GNCC
Jun 24, 2014 - 11:05 AM - by NickJ

Can-Am 4x4 Pilots Win Four Classes In West Virginia

Valcourt, Québec, June 24, 2014 – Can-Am® Renegade® 800R X® xc ATV racer Bryan Buckhannon won the 4x4 Pro class and earned the top spot on the morning overall podium at round nine of the 2014 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country racing series. Can-Am amateur 4x4 racers also won three classes, as the 13-round national endurance series made its annual stop at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in Snowshoe, W. Va.

“I think it’s fair to say that Bryan Buckhannon has found his groove with the Can-Am Renegade 800R, earning back-to-back wins and three victories in the last four rounds. His outstanding performance at a challenging Snowshoe GNCC, which pushed him into the 4x4 Pro class points lead, gives him momentum heading into the two-month break,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “Can-Am 4x4 amateur class racers continue to outdistance their competition, as Tanner Bowles, Nick Eichelberger and Terry Whitesides all own the class points lead at the break.”

The AMSOIL GNCC returned to the highly popular and picturesque Snowshoe Mountain Resort for round nine and a weekend of activities and off-road racing. The course, which dissects the rocky, steep, tree-lined slopes of Snowshoe, featured thick fog, mini mud runs, nasty rocks and a unique, multiple-row street-start. Racers were released in single rows of five on asphalt, sprinting to be the first into the woods. Once on the course, it was up to the racers to ride smart and both conquer and avoid the natural obstacles that define Snowshoe.

ATV Parts Plus / Can-Am Renegade 800R racer Bryan Buckhannon, who trailed fellow Renegade pilot Kevin Trantham by seven points in the 4x4 Pro class rankings coming into Snowshoe was on the gas in his home state. However, Buckhannon didn’t have the lead until lap five. Prior to that he was patiently tucked in second behind BNR Motorsports / Loctite / Can-Am Renegade pilot... [Read More]
