SKI-DOO and Burton Team Up
Sep 25, 2014 - 9:46 AM - by NickJ
  • Ski-Doo becomes the official snowmobile for Burton’s Team of Pro Snowboarders
  • Ski-Doo and Burton to co-develop products
  • Ski-Doo sponsors the Burton Mountain Festival

Valcourt, Québec, September 25, 2014 - BRP’s Ski-Doo brand is partnering with Burton Snowboards, the world’s leading snowboarding company, with Ski-Doo becoming the official snowmobile for Burton Snowboards’ team of pro riders. The two companies also agreed to co-develop products to suit the needs of snowboarders and snowmobilers and Ski-Doo becomes sponsor of the Burton Mountain Festival.

The emerging trend of riders using snowmobiles to access the backcountry is on the rise, as people find it a more economical way to enjoy their sport. Feedback from Burton and Ski-Doo pro riders will be used to develop products and activities that are exciting and relevant for snowboarders and snowmobilers.
“Partnering with BRP and Ski-Doo is a natural extension for Burton and our team of pro snowboarders,” said Nicholas Sargent, Vice President of Global Business Alliances for Burton. “Our riders use sleds to access fresh powder and new terrain all season long, so they’re really excited to have an official partnership with the Ski-Doo brand. We also look forward to integrating Ski-Doo into the Burton Mountain Festival, which will give them a strong brand presence at the leading snowboard demo experience in North America.”
The Burton Mountain Festival, the most extensive, interactive snowboard demo experience takes place in eight sites throughout North America.
“BRP is proud to develop a partnership with another innovative company like Burton Snowboards, the most renowned name in snowboarding,” stated Louis Lévesque, vice-president, Global Marketing and Consumer Experience. “We share a similar passion for the ultimate experience and a culture of constant innovation where we lead by pushing boundaries in our respective fields.”

HENDERSHOT Wins WEXCR, AWRCS Titles with Maverick
Sep 24, 2014 - 4:41 PM - by NickJ

Can-Am GNCC Racers Win Five Morning Classes; Zakowski Dominant in Iowa

Valcourt, Québec, September 24, 2014 – The JB Off-Road / Hendershot Performance / Can-Am® X-Team recently captured two regional racing championships with its Maverick™1000R X® rs side-by-side vehicle. Can-Am ATV racers also won five morning classes, the morning overall and all four 4x4 classes, at round 11 of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country series in Pennsylvania. In Iowa, Zac Zakowski earned three wins racing his Can-Am ATV and side-by-side.

“Hendershot Performance had a fabulous season, winning both the AWRCS UTV Open class championship and the WEXCR UTV title. Larry Hendershot Jr., and his team have done a spectacular job this season putting the Maverick in the spotlight,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “It was a good weekend for our ATV woods racers, as our team of GNCC 4x4 racers continued their championship chases by winning all four 4x4 classes at round 11 and Zac Zakowski put together a dominating weekend in Iowa.”

Hendershot – Double Championship
JB Off-Road / Hendershot Performance / Can-Am wrapped up the UTV Open class season title of the American Woods Racing Championship Series (AWRCS). At round six of the AWRCS series held in Parker, Pa., Larry Hendershot Jr., earned a top-10 finish to push his No. 44 Can-Am Maverick to the UTV Open class championship, despite missing the podium for just the second time all year. Two victories and two second-place finishes, along with his recent finish, gave Hendershot enough of a points advantage to secure the season title.

“I would like to thank all of our 2014 sponsors for making this championship run possible. A special thanks goes out to Can-Am, Jody Bateman and the crew at JB Racing, Larry Sr. and the crew at Hendershot Performance, Racer Tech, ITP, FOX shocks, Yoshimura and SSI Decals. This 2014 Maverick 1000R X rs is the best handling and most powerful side-by-side I’ve piloted,” said Hendershot Jr.

Hendershot Jr. also captured the Woods Extreme XC Racing (WEXCR) UTV championship earlier in September after winning the... [Read More]

ATV and Side-By-Side Racers Victorious in GNCC, TORN Series

Valcourt, Québec, September 10, 2014 – Can-Am® ATV and side-by-side racers won a total of seven classes at both the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) and Texas Off-Road Nationals racing series over the weekend. Can-Am 4x4 racers won three of four classes and earned eight GNCC podiums at the Can-Am Unadilla in New York. TORN racers Hunter and Cody Miller each notched wins aboard their Can-Am vehicles in Texas.

“Our Can-Am 4x4 racers had a nice weekend in New York, competing for the first time after the long GNCC summer break. The remaining four GNCC rounds are important because it’s the final push towards a class championship. We had three class wins and put two on the 4x4 Pro class podium to maintain our points lead, so we were pleased with the results,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “Cody and Hunter Miller, were outstanding once again in the TORN series, each winning a class and tallying two podiums apiece.”

GNCC – Can-Am Unadilla
Can-Am racers won three 4x4 classes and earned eight total podiums during the 10 a.m. session at the 2014 Can-Am Unadilla race in New Berlin, N.Y. In the premier 4x4 Pro class, ATV Parts Plus / Can-Am racer Bryan Buckhannon maintained his current class points lead with a solid second-place finish in New York. Fellow Renegade® 800R X® xc pilot Kevin Trantham, who took third and is currently second in points, joined him on the podium.

“My Can-Am worked well. The track was rough and the lappers were a huge obstacle,” said Buckhannon. “I was able to gain valuable points going into the final three races.”

Can-Am won all three 4x4 amateur classes at round 10 of the GNCC series. With Tanner Bowles having already secured the 4x4 A/B class title for 2014 and moving up to the 4x4 Pro class (sixth in his debut), Indiana-based racer Cory Bartlett picked up where Bowles left off by notching his first class win of the year. Michael Edwards joined him on the podium. Nick Eichelberger continued his mastery over the 4x4 Novice class with his sixth class win in six chances. Despite missing four rounds, Eichelberger sits just nine points behind the class leader with three rounds remaining and is aiming for a championship. Tracey Pierce finished third on a Can-Am. After missing the... [Read More]
