CAN-AM Pro Josh Creamer Earns Podium at Loretta's

DS 450 Pilot Jeffrey Rastrelli Captures Pro-Am National Championship

Valcourt, Québec, August 18, 2014 – Can-Am® DS 450™ racers competed at round nine of the 2014 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship Series held at Loretta Lynn’s Motocross in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Can-Am racer Josh Creamer earned his first Pro class podium of the season while fellow DS 450 pilot Jeffrey Rastrelli secured the Pro-Am class championship with a victory at the series finale.

“We had a good showing at Loretta Lynn’s in Tennessee. We secured the Pro-Am class championship with Jeffrey Rastrelli and earned second overall in the Pro class championship points race with Joel Hetrick,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “The finale was also big for Josh Creamer, as he easily won the second Pro class moto on his way to earning his first Pro class podium finish of the season.”

The finale of the nine-leg AMA-sanctioned ATV MX Championship Series, Can-Am Dirt Days, stopped at Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch to cap another season of Pro and amateur ATV motocross racing. The weather played a role at the final round, too, as hot temperatures, high humidity and rain all worked against the racers. In fact, heavy rain fell at the start of the second Pro class moto, soaking the track and adding mud into the equation.

Heading into the final round, JB Racing / DWT / Mtn. Dew Live Wire / Can-Am DS 450 Pro Joel Hetrick sat comfortably in second place, but needed a decent finish to ensure his best career Pro finish. The day started well for Hetrick, as he grabbed a top-five start in moto one. The Can-Am racer ended up with a hard-fought third-place finish. However, a poor start combined with moto two’s muddy conditions left Hetrick pushing for hard to preserve his points lead for second in the class standings. He ended up eighth in the moto, which, when combined with his first-moto score, was good for second overall for the season.

BCS Performance / Can-Am racer Josh Creamer put together his best two-moto scorecard of the year at Loretta’s, despite the conditions. After a solid fourth-place finish in moto... [Read More]

CAN-AM Pro Joel Hetrick Earns MX Podium at Red Bud

DS 450 ATV Racers Notch Podiums In Michigan and Massachusetts

Valcourt, Québec, July 29, 2014 – Can-Am® DS 450™ racers recorded numerous podiums competing in both the AMA-sanctioned Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship series in Michigan and round six of the New England ATV Motocross series in Massachusetts. Joel Hetrick earned third place in the Pro class at the Red Bud MX National, while fellow Pro Travis Moore earned second in the NEATV-MX series Pro ranks.

“We had a decent weekend in both the ATV MX National series and the New England series, earning Pro and Pro-Am podiums,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “Joel Hetrick’s third-place finish at Red Bud gave him the nice points advantage in the race for second place, which will ultimately be decided at the series finale. DS 450 racers Jeffrey Rastrelli and Ronnie Higgerson will be battling for the Pro-Am class title at the finale as well, so our season is definitely ending with some intrigue.”

Red Bud ATV MX National
Three Can-Am DS 450 Pros finished in the top seven at the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Red Bud ATV National in Buchanan, Mich. Joel Hetrick (JB Racing / DWT / Mtn. Dew Live Wire / Can-Am) was the top finisher, earning third overall with a 2-6 scorecard. The podium finish was Hetrick’s fifth of the season, pushing his points total to 306 and giving him an 11-point cushion over third place.

“The Can-Am was working awesome and my Elka shocks were great on the rough Red Bud track,” said Hetrick. “I want to go to Loretta’s and be strong there; hopefully take another win. I’m second in points now going into the last round and if all goes well, I will finish second in points, which would be the best Pro finish of my career. I’m pretty happy about that.”

Coming off his first career Pro class podium finish at round seven, JB Racing / Cheerwine / Can-Am DS 450 pilot Jeffrey Rastrelli overcame a first-moto crash to earn a very respectable sixth-place finish at Red Bud. He also earned second overall in the Pro-Am class with a 4-1 moto score on Sunday. More importantly, the podium finish pushed him into the class... [Read More]

DS 450 Racers Earn Four of Top Seven Pro Class Spots; Pro-Am Class Win

Valcourt, Québec, July 15, 2014 – Can-Am® DS 450™ racer Jeffrey Rastrelli earned his first career Pro class podium by finishing third at round seven of the 2014 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship Series held in New York. Rastrelli, also the Pro-Am class winner, and three other Can-Am DS 450 Pros secured four of the top-seven finishing spots in Pro class at Unadilla Motorsports Park in New Berlin, N.Y.

“Can-Am DS 450 racers definitely showed off their talents, winning the fastest qualifier award, grabbing the moto two holeshot and leading a portion of both Pro class motos at Unadilla in New York,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “Jeffrey Rastrelli continued to impress with a good starts, excellent consistency and a career-best third-place podium finish. To have four racers in the top seven is certainly an accomplishment. They all continue to push hard for the podium and deserve praise for their efforts.”

Round seven, the NYCM Insurance Northeastern ATV National, of the AMA-sanctioned Mtn. Dew ATV MX series was held at the fabulous Unadilla Motorsports facility, a natural-terrain motocross course located on the rolling hills outside of New Berlin, N.Y.

For Can-Am, the day started with JB Racing / DWT / Mtn. Dew Live Wire / Can-Am Pro Joel Hetrick earning the ATVriders.com Fastest Qualifier award aboard his DS 450 ATV. Jeffrey Rastrelli was in the spotlight all day, as the JB Racing / Cheerwine / Can-Am Pro pulled off two great starts to contend for a spot on the podium. Rastrelli ended up with his first Pro class podium finish, earning third overall at Unadilla. He started the podium chase by grabbing the second spot at the gate drop in the first moto. He later led a lap of that moto before dropping back one spot to take second. In moto two, Rastrelli started fourth and held that... [Read More]
