ATV and Side-By-Side Racers Victorious in GNCC, TORN Series

Valcourt, Québec, September 10, 2014 – Can-Am® ATV and side-by-side racers won a total of seven classes at both the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) and Texas Off-Road Nationals racing series over the weekend. Can-Am 4x4 racers won three of four classes and earned eight GNCC podiums at the Can-Am Unadilla in New York. TORN racers Hunter and Cody Miller each notched wins aboard their Can-Am vehicles in Texas.

“Our Can-Am 4x4 racers had a nice weekend in New York, competing for the first time after the long GNCC summer break. The remaining four GNCC rounds are important because it’s the final push towards a class championship. We had three class wins and put two on the 4x4 Pro class podium to maintain our points lead, so we were pleased with the results,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “Cody and Hunter Miller, were outstanding once again in the TORN series, each winning a class and tallying two podiums apiece.”

GNCC – Can-Am Unadilla
Can-Am racers won three 4x4 classes and earned eight total podiums during the 10 a.m. session at the 2014 Can-Am Unadilla race in New Berlin, N.Y. In the premier 4x4 Pro class, ATV Parts Plus / Can-Am racer Bryan Buckhannon maintained his current class points lead with a solid second-place finish in New York. Fellow Renegade® 800R X® xc pilot Kevin Trantham, who took third and is currently second in points, joined him on the podium.

“My Can-Am worked well. The track was rough and the lappers were a huge obstacle,” said Buckhannon. “I was able to gain valuable points going into the final three races.”

Can-Am won all three 4x4 amateur classes at round 10 of the GNCC series. With Tanner Bowles having already secured the 4x4 A/B class title for 2014 and moving up to the 4x4 Pro class (sixth in his debut), Indiana-based racer Cory Bartlett picked up where Bowles left off by notching his first class win of the year. Michael Edwards joined him on the podium. Nick Eichelberger continued his mastery over the 4x4 Novice class with his sixth class win in six chances. Despite missing four rounds, Eichelberger sits just nine points behind the class leader with three rounds remaining and is aiming for a championship. Tracey Pierce finished third on a Can-Am. CAN-AM Teams Victorious at Heartland Challenge
Aug 25, 2014 - 9:30 AM - by NickJ

Murray Racing Puts Maverick on Best In The Desert Vegas To Reno Podium

Valcourt, Québec, August 21, 2014 – Can-Am® ATV and side-by-side racers competed at the 2014 Heartland Challenge endurance race, the Vegas To Reno Best In The Desert series and round eight of the New England ATV Motocross series, earning podiums in all three events.

“Our team of Can-Am ATV and side-by-side racers had a busy-but-successful weekend across the US. The Murrays earned a hard-fought third-place finish in a very difficult Vegas-to-Reno race while our other sibling teams, in the Pratts and Millers, notched big wins in Iowa,” said Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am. “From endurance racing in Iowa and the Nevada desert to motocross in Maine, our racers again proved Can-Am is an excellent choice for serious competitors.”

Heartland Challenge
The 2014 Heartland Challenge endurance race in Carlisle, Iowa, featured classes for side-by-sides and both 4x4 and sport ATVs. Three classes (800cc, 900cc and Open) of side-by-sides competed during a four-hour format, while the ATVs, which included Pro, Series Challenge, 4x4, Ironman, Women’s and age classes ran for 10 hours.

Marcus and Mouse Pratt of Team Jack’s Excavating / Can-Am won the UTV Open class in their Maverick. The Pratt brothers excelled during the four-hour side-by-side portion of the Heartland Challenge, winning their class and taking the overall victory as well. The team didn’t get the best start and ended up taking a wrong line, which ultimately forced them to make up time. However, they stayed focused, remained patient and meticulously picked off competitors one at a time on their way to the front.

“We had a hiccup at the beginning, but we just took our time and started picking them off one at a time and conserving our vehicle. The Maverick was unbelievable today, and between Mouse and it, they were a force to be reckoned with today,” said Marcus Pratt.
