Exclamation So what do you carry for survival!

With riding the trails of western Maine I figure I would put a little survival kit together to leave in my machine. 98% of the time I am riding with my good friend and neighbor, but you never know
So here is what I have packed
Knife with steel fire rod
sun screen / bug spray and wipes
fire starter sticks with water proof matches/lighter
Survival blanket
2 flash lights with spare battery's
2 chem lights
whistle w/ compass
small first aid kit
fishing and trapping stuff
water filter pen
hard candy/MRE brownie
(might even put in a full MRE)
water proof trail maps and state trail maps
along with the above the following is also kept in the dry bag
t-shirt, sweat shirt, toilet paper, bandana, spare riding gloves

I also carry much the same as you ,in addition I carry a combination axe/military trench tool combo(quick change head).I use an LED light that can be cranked instead of batteries.I carry potato chips as fire starter ,those suckers burn.Being able to have fire is a must.

What is a water filter pen ?I assume a purifier of some sort.

Good thread. My wife got together a survival kit too. We also ride in southern Me and NH. We have a small first aid kit too but included some of those Clot packs, ya never know, like getting impaled with a tree branch or something similar. WE also have the water purifier pen. I always carry my firearm as well. I like to also keep a few other things with me just to be prepared.....We keep in a large zip lock bag, a extra pair of socks( sucks riding the rest of the day with wet feet or at least have them for the ride home after trailing up), spare goggles, clean wash cloths( cleaning mud off your googles or hands) and an eye wash kit. I also keep a small tire repair kit and am looking at getting a small dc air compressor.
Anyone have any thoughts on the small air compressor?

If I 'm bringing Tequila I had better be prepared to stay the night in the woods!I don't do well with Tequila(which might explain my partial plate).
