tire size

This is a discussion on tire size within the ATV Tires and Wheels forums, part of the Can-Am Tech Area category; hi there just wondering whats a safe tire size. i would like to get the silverbacks 28'' but i dont want to start snaping axles ...

Default tire size

hi there just wondering whats a safe tire size. i would like to get the silverbacks 28'' but i dont want to start snaping axles and stuff. i know a couple guys that has 32'' and the allready started putting $$ in there atv i realy like the tires but dont want to wreck my bike ... thanks

You could break an axle with the stock tires if you're not careful. Silverbacks have big lugs and you got to be careful. 27's be safe stock but they are way heavier. If you want to clutch 28's or up to 30's but still careful thumb with any big lug tires. I ran 28" Backs with one prob but have to blame my thumb in the end. I have been running 29.5's for awhile now with no probs.

ok thanks for the info i do have 27 Swamplite on now but i find i dont keep up with the rest in the mud i have an epi clutch kit wich was just the springs and i uderstand what you meen by you have to watch how you use the gas

I run 27" mud machines and drive it like its stolen, no drive train issues in 2 years

If I could go back and do it all over again I would probley buy 29.5 Outlaws. I'm sayin this after having 2 sets of SB's. If they make a 29.5 in a 14" rim I'll be the first to own a set!!!
If your looking at 28's just go up to the 29.5 outlaws. Ride WAY better and don't weigh a bunch more.
My dirty thirty's beat the hell out of me every second your on the bike. Ya they chew like crazy and will out handle and side hill better then a law but they are rough rough rough!
