If they are much wider than stock, yes, or will rub your tie rod ends.

I have a 2004 400 ho and just put 25" mudlite xl's on, man am I disappointed. They are very heavy tires, probably cost me 5mph top end, feel like krap on pavement, will dig you down to the frame in seconds, and I lost the ability to spin it around at will. I wish I had went with something lighter like maxxis zillas. Now I'm in no way trying to sell them but a friend of mine just put some (zillas)on his 400 honda rancher, and loves 'em. He got 'em at 4wheelparts.com, which has the best price on those tires I've found. Good luck and please don't think I'm advertising for anyone, just passing on info I wish I had a few weeks ago. My mudlite xl's are going on craigslist.
