Default Tire gash

Anybody have any suggestions of what to do to keep this gash from getting worse?
Its not leaking or anything but just dont want something sticking in it.
Was thinking I'd just clean it out and glue the flap back down and glue a patch over it just for some added protection?
Thx!

Maybe something like a rubber gasket maker if you have any.
