Ride areas in OH, KY, WV, and PA ?

My wife and I are currently planning a trip both south and east of MI, ATV riding this summer. We both ride Outlanders (500 & 800), so gas on trail should not be an issue. Not knowing many ride areas outside of MI and Canada, I thought I’d create a post on here for additional recommendations.

We both enjoy trail riding where there's lots of scenery and lookouts. Some rocks and hills are not an issue, but extreme rock crawling would not be a good fit.

Where are all of the best locations to find this type of riding experience ? Specifically in OH, KY, WV, and PA.
Thanks !

ATV Trails on State Forest Land

These are Pennsylvania State operated trails. They are very nice with a great mixture. We go to central Pa. There, you'll find 4 trail systems close to each other, an hour or less drive from each other.

One in Potter Co. Two in Clinton Co. One in Lycoming. This area is very rural. Lodging is cheap.

Print trail maps off the web before you go. Last year, there were no maps avaliable trail side or at ranger offices.

Bloody skillet State trail system in Clinton Co. links up to Snowshoe rails to trails system.

Snow Shoe Rails To Trails - Trail Maps and Directions

The State trails are a reciprocating State permit set up. Snowshoe is rideable with easily purchased and cheap passes at local businesses.

Expect to see alot of wildlife. Bears are a common sight.

This area is truly great. Lots to ride, cheap, scenic and a great mix of trails. We go for a week and spend less than a $1,000 for three people. That's very affordable and you can literally ride yo arse off. Mostly, we ride, eat, swim, then sleep. Wake up and repeat. We generally eat at the cabin. My gal simply tosses something in the crock pot so it's ready when we get back to the cabin.

This is a great place to stay and it's centrally located. No AC or TV.

There is some decent stuff in OH and PA but if you are going to make a big trip out of it go to HM, you wont run out of places to ride!

I like Royal Blue which is just across the border from Ky into Tenn. on I-75. Black Mountain in Ky is very rocky and is better suited for SXS. That is my opinion.

Here's some links to 4 different areas in KY that we rode back in the Fall of 2010. Of the 4, Mine Made Adventure Park was our favorite, but we enjoyed them all. We are heading back out that way again this Fall for 10 days to make the WV, KY, and TN loop. Lots of great riding in that region.
