Default 2010 800 max xt-p front springs

road last weekend,, had front springs on second from stiffest setting,,nice soft ride,,but noticed when riding hard,, seemed to be bottoming out easier,, so today i went to crank it up to stiffest setting,, noticed the top of my spring is collapsed together,, similar to the spring issue on my 07 800 xt with the front smaller spring collapsing,, guess after 500 miles the springs have settled in,,,might go with hpg,,works,or crutchfields,,,, the back on softest setting are fairly stiff,, with little dampning,,guess it's cuz i ride single,,,just roto-pax on back. machine is still great to ride,, but might want better performing shocks for aggresive riding.

Wow you have 500 miles already? I just turned 44 miles on my machine...I need to get out there more and ride!!

My springs are on the stock settings. Didn't seem to be bottoming out for me, but my experience has been with one single ride up in Warren.

Hope to see you next weekend!

cam-law,

What is the MEASURED ground clearance on the rear when set to soft vs firm, with rider? The factory website says 12" and if you watch the video of the air setting change, the muffler to the top of the tire looks to be several inches. I wonder what is really is?

not sure what ya mean by air-setting change,,mines a xt-p,, no air shocks in back,, but if i remember,on softest setting in back,, was over 11"..actually find the rears,, alittle stiff,, for a single rider.

Sorry. I thought the air adjustable rear shocks were on the XT-P. I looked again and noticed they were on the LTD.

When you say collapsed do you mean like these pictured from my 2010 800R XT with 1200 miles? Is that normal?

After 1000 miles on my xt-p my springs look like the ones in the left pic.
