Exclamation Outlander 500 Max Whine in Park and Neutral

I noticed this weekend and from what ive been reading its totally normal I have 535 miles on my machine is well maintained and dealer serviced even switched to the maverick belt.

When I put the machine in Neutral or Park theres a slight little drivetrain whine very slight nothing loud, when i put it in gear and drive its gone. i usually have my boss radio blasting so i never noticed it they only think i noticed was that normal can am clink with the weight in the secondary in the helix on and off the throttle they all make. I seen on another forum it seems this park neutral noise they all do it.

The noise you are hearing in P and N is your belt turning the secondary and the gearbox. When in gear, the belt stops. Freshly lubed friction washer and freer running bearings may slow the belt some and make it quieter.

Change your belt to a Gates G force. Noise will be gone.

That belt should last you a good long time too.
