RENEGADE 500 FEATURES AND BENEFITS
ROTAX 500 V-TWIN ENGINE
The 80o SOHC V-twin engine supplies 40.4-horsepower, has four valves per cylinder and is fed by a 46mm throttle body and two VDO Siemens‡ fuel injectors. The intelligent electronic fuel injection system automatically maintains peak perfor- mance, regardless of temperature or altitude, and contributes to the liquid-cooled engine’s potent power and seamless delivery. And the progressive throttle system creates manageable power for slow-speed, technical climbs or high-speed sprints.
VISCO-LOK FRONT DIFFERENTIAL
Visco-Lok is a progressive, auto-locking front differential system that transfers power from one slipping front wheel to the one with more traction. Automatic means just that and requires no buttons, levers or switches for you to engage. Just focus on the terrain and let Visco-Lok take charge of supplying supreme traction when 4x4 is needed. The system was designed to be indistinguishable to you, which means no wheel hop or driveline wind-up or noticeable changes in steering effort. And it locks up to 100% without a rev or speed limiter.
RS-TYPE FRONT SUSPENSION
The double A-arm front suspension was the developed using feedback from Can-Am racing R&D and proven engineering. Strategic use of aluminum upper A-arms reduced weight and dive-control geometry maintains positive control and reduced roll in aggressive cornering. The end result is durable suspension that can handle severe riding conditions and provide a smooth ride on a casual trail adventure.
RS-TYPE TRAILING TORSIONAL INDEPENDENT (TTI) REAR SUSPENSION
The TTI system maintains unmatched control and stability when compared to competitive rear suspensions. It is designed to eliminate wheel scrub, wavering and, in turn, supply a smooth, supple ride. Trailing arm design provides excellent control and stability, especially in rough terrain, by eliminating scrub. Plus, TTI has up to 75% fewer parts than competitive designs and significantly decreases tire wear.
The Renegade 500 ATV’s high-pressure gas (HPG) shocks offer a smooth ride for trail riders and racers.
SURROUNDING SPAR TECHNOLOGY (SST) FRAME
The single-spar SST frame is lighter and stronger than a traditional tube-style chassis found on competitive machines. Other benefits include a class-leading power-to-weight ratio and a reduced center of gravity.
FOUR 60W PROJECTOR BEAM HEADLIGHTS
Nighttime visibility is enhanced thanks to the 500’s 240-watt candlepower, which mimics lighting system found on luxury automobiles.
12-INCH (30.5CM) CAST-ALUMINUM WHEELS
Rolled edge rims with rolled aluminum are mated with sharply styled cast-aluminum centers are as durable as they are attractive.
25-INCH (66CM) ITP HOLESHOT ATR TIRES
Proven Holeshot ATR tires offer all-around trail performance and supreme traction.
INBOARD DISC BRAKES
Located inboard on the chassis, the disc brakes are better protected from mud and debris and centralize mass to boost handling.
DIGITALLY ENCODED SECURITY SYSTEM (D.E.S.S.)
The innovative D.E.S.S. is the industry’s first standard anti-theft device. Electronic code in key must match code in ECU to start.
