Helix Mod Testing

sweet deal man I can't wait to do mine. I think my buddie scott has allready sent you one for him. I am really looking forward to testing this on some mudd tires and see what it does. So far it is sounding awsome. And again thanks Mr.rpm for helping others and sharing some of your knowlege.

What I meant was , if U file the driven clutch like U have shown, can I use a stock helix again, or are U fucked? Like I would have to have two driven clutches for different applications.

This is what I believe the milling accomplished. (shaving the side of the helix walls?) All 3 or just one wall?

Oh, ok, I see what you mean,Yes you can use the stock helix on the filed secondary, won't hurt a thing. You're just taking the edge off.

This is correct, and yes all three sides have been milled

Here is a picture of the helix mod after completed. I have a bone stock renegade, except for maxxis 'zilla tires that are stock size. Stock helix, the bike would go to around 6000 rpms when gassed from a standing start. With the helix mod, it goes to around 6800 rpms and steadily climbs from there. This angle is milled back pretty good, and it depends on how much it has been milled, but the movable sheave may have to be filed down a little to keep the sharp edge of the aluminum sheave from digging in to the plastic. I'll post some pics on what needs to be filed in a few minutes.

:dan:I run big tires on a outty max and have had to use a stronger springs in mine primary and secondary.With your mod I could go back a stock spring in my secondary.:ban:

You probably could put your whole clutch back stock, except for the helix mod.
