One more question. If this is the same as having a clutch kit with different springs and different weights, what is the advantage of the helix mod vs the clutch kit? The helix mod does the exact thing as the dalton kit?

It increases belt pinch, to help keep the belt from slipping. When larger tires are put on, the engine needs to rev to help pull those big tires. The only way a primary mod can let the motor rev is to install lighter weights, this lets the motor rev, but the belt has less tension (pinch) on it. This mod doesn't effect the stall speed like changing primary springs does, or effect what the motor does when it's wound out. Although all the clutch kits can be used with the helix mod, for even more tunability.

It's cheaper too!

You probably could put your whole clutch back stock, except for the helix mod.
I would agree with you if I was at sea level but most of my ridding is at over 7000ft.I would like to try your helix though.

The clutch mods work the same at any altitude, but they might have to be adjusted, depending on the altitude, for best performance.

Yes it was me, I got the helix's machined, just wanted a few specifics on the bike. It is going out today, just be sure and post the results on here when it is installed.

For those reading this, hemertwv is experienced with sled clutches, and we should get a real accurate review on this mod. I think the big tire/ mudder guys will love this!!

So would this mod help with pulling a loaded trailer slowly up and down tight wooded trails? I have been using my bike to pull cut lumber off the trails. Thought I smelled the belt smoke once. If it did, it wasn't much. My bike is pretty much vanilla except for I have done the CowTown clutch to help smooth out the takeoff. It lowered the takeoff RPM's some. But I was told it might let the belt slip. I would like to do something to help increase the belt pinch, and this seems to be the ticket. :ban:
