The best way to look at the secondary is you want your shiftout to be as quick as possible based on your tire size and hp. With bigger tires you slow your shiftout using either the helix or heavier springs to keep the motor from lugging below its peak hp. Match the primary to fit the secondary (heavier secondary, more weight in the primary and vice versa). Lots of trial and error!

I'm glad I kept up with it as it went along. I can't imagine having to read through this one again, LOL. I'm happy for you and feel sorry for you all at the same time, LOL.

Ok so here is a little update from me. I'm at sea level to begin. I did 3 things at once. I had stealth snorks all 1"1/2 under the pod. Brought them to the outside and went with 2" airbox intake. Put on a swamp series slip on. Added the 650 helix (dealer installed muffler and helix) haven't really had a chance to run it yet but dealer has a little room in his yard with a little terrain around it. Stopped in while cruising around doing work stuff this morning and played a little bit. Have the Dalton kit (green spring) no rivets. I tried low range (2/4 wheel drive) and high range (2/4 wheel drive) and all I can say is "are you kiddin me" this thing HAULS AZZ. It is not the same bike they picked up this morning at 7 am (their good like that). I was trying to watch engagement ( still around 2300 or close) and man when it hits, it hits hard, insta launch. The tech that works on mine is a long time employee and does alot of cvt work (sleds and bikes). Told me to try it like it is and see how it works if I find to much revving will put the aluminum rivets in. (not really enough room for them to get it up to fast). Seat of the pants to me is "Holy Crap this thing works way better with the 650 helix at launch". As I mentioned couple other things done at the same time. I swear if I was a complete nut I could burn these 28" Backs right off on the pavement in the yard. So for big tires I found a Difference. Have to see how it works in the mud now. This is an awesome thread. Tks for starting it mrrpm. Tks got wake? and Helix for answering my PM's. Gonna be a good time at the Mud Event this up coming weekend.

nope, not even close. the helix modifies how the secondary responds and a clutch kit modifies how the primary responds.

it provides better low range pull, but less mid to upper end pull.
