My summary of the thread goes, 650 helix pulls better low to mid and not lose a lot on top just a little less gettin there, mine pulls awesome from the start, have to adjust the primary for what you're running tire wise, and if other mods. I could be off but I think I'm close with my opinion. Depends on what you're doing, MUD, TRAILS a mix of both. If you can pull hard low to mid sometimes top won't matter. Again depends on what you're doing.

there are three stages of the CVT. low range, shift out, and high range. the helix change should not really effect the low range much, except to keep it lower longer. the shift out will be slowed, so you will have more pulling power, but it won't accelerate through the shift out as fast. the high range should not be effected, it'll just take a little longer to get there.

So everything seems to be working very well with the 650 helix installed with my other mods. I had a prefilter on my CVT exhaust for awhile but noticed a rare amount of dust or splash ever got in there even after the hardest runs through the mud. Something I did notice when I took the pre-filter off was a slight trace of aluminum and belt dust built up on the back side of the pre-filter. I noticed through this thread there was some debate as to filing down the button area on the back side of the secondary. I believe in the end it was posted that it was not necessary. I know this is not an exact science but for those that have done the 650 helix and not filed has anyone noticed the trace aluminum. I guess to wrap it up can the aluminum be from the 650 helix breaking it's way in to secondary and will the trace amount stop when the helix is formed (so to speak). Thoughts Gents?

if you are getting up to 79 mph, you're doing pretty much as good as its going to get without taller tires or custom gears.
