Its been a couple years since I looked into this, but if memory is serving me right today, how are you going to handle the bottom end casings. It seems like we measred up the OEM sleave and to get a true 1000 you would be out past the sleeves making a new sleves and boring out thebottom end casing to take the pistons needed to make a 1000 without stroking it. Just wondering if you are stroking it to get there or what.
But I for one would have an entrest if it works out for ya.
Yes the block WILL have to be bored out, that's next.No I ain't stroking it.

If you would do this to a Stock (exhaust w/o EFI controller) machine
What kind of gains are we talking about.
Would it be 20-30% I would be interestd for drag purposes.
I am assuming you have done this before on other machines and it is reliable.
What about the heat problems with the 800 would this add to the problem?
Just thinking out loud
I wouldn't do it without being able to give some extra fuel, and putting a pipe on it.
I have done this on drag car motors, and it works real good. I'm gonne be the guinea pig, I guess. If it handles my turbo, it'll handle almost anything.
If you're draggin', the heating shouldn't be a problem. That's all I do w/ mine, so we will see!

Let me get it running on mine first!! No need to send the whole bike, just send the motor!
I'd like to find a set of used rear gears to look at to try to make some by. I mite have to buy some new ones, just wonderin' if anyone has any busted ones layin' around.

Might be a stupid question but wont you have to do something about the valves? Wouldnt they be a bit small for a 20% increase in volume? I imagine the turbo will deal with that but how about with a non turbo setup?

Yes, the valves are being replaced with larger ones, along with a larger cam. They already flow better than a fairly good small block V-8 head, wich displaces more than this engine does.
For a n/a setup, if stock valves and cam are used, the usable rpm range will go down, which should work good with the rpm limited stock computer, if someone wanted to do such a thing.

How are you going to get around the timing from the ECM to push this bigger bore? Hope it really works out. Its going to be interesting to see.

Mine has a Motec ecu, and I have full control over timing and fuel.

what compression ratio are you shooting for?
i would imagine fairly low because of the turbo, are you going to do some n/a dyno runs to see what it does?
