Also-When i installed the 4:0 gears in my arctic cat, it made it a different machine. A totally different machine!!! I didnt race at the time and my cat was built for normal trail riding and mudding. You couldnt stop my bike. You could have poured concrete around my tires, let it set up, and i could have turned my tires. The gears were completely different then i was use to.

SO dont think these gears are only for big built bikes or only for racing. They are great for normal bikes as well.

They were factory made. My cat came with 3:6 gears in them. THey came out with the 4:0 gears in the 650 v twin and the prowlers. A TON of people bought the 4:0's from the 650 v twin's to use in the other cats. You could order them from arctic cat at around $1000 a set. As soon as people found out about the new gears, arctic cat was on back order for 2 months for them. They couldnt make them fast enough. Everyone from racers to every day trail riders and mudder were buying them.

Yea AC is the only company with a selection. 3.1, 3.6, and 4.0 factory gears that interchange.

The lower Can Am gears will sell quickly and someone will make a good profit.

One thing that gets a BF 750 off the line so quick is 4.375 axle gears. Then on top of that tranny gears from Richard are available. Also Teryx tranny gears. Both of which are different ratio's.
People who own BF's have alot of options. This is what I hope happens with Can Am's.

maybe if someone can find out the number of lower gear sets AC has sold and tell that to the gear manufacturers, it'll get them more excited to jump into the ATV market. lets face it, proper gearing makes so many of the CVT issues go away. just slap in the gears and don't even touch the CVT unless you are racing. no guesswork, just plug and play. now with lower gears and a well tuned CVT, look out...

Does anyone have any ideas on how many gears were sold for A/C's?

Yes, as far as I can tell, by the BRP online parts, the shaft machines are all the same, so the market is HUGE!

Greg-I dont know if you could find that answer. But it was a ton. There was such a demand for them that arctic cat had them on back order twice. They were backordered for about a month, twice last year. They couldnt make them fast enough.
