History: Anyone that has a Pre-08 Outty XT knows just how weak the front lower "shorty" springs are. Mine came fully compressed from the factory...with no load on the ATV. A good while back I replaced mine with a new pair of rear shorty's because they are a heavier rate spring. Worked good but still sagged a bit, but loads better than stock. I ran the fronts on the 2nd from the top or sometimes the top adjustment setting.
I still have a few more "honey do" expenses to take care of before I replace the shocks & springs with some aftermarket ones. So I decided to try a low-$ pipe lift. Because I'm already using the rear shorty fix up front, I couldn't fit the 2" tall 1.5" pipe coupler so I just cut it in half and did the same to the rears too. Now my adjusters are on the lowest settings on all 4's.
I have not had a chance to try it out on the trail yet but from just a quick run up and down the street.....WOW! much better. The rear feels a bit stiff but will have to see out on the trail.
Here are a few pics. No sag at all front or rear and a solid 11" GC front-rear too.
Front Stock Shock w/ Rear Shorties & 1" pipe lift.

There has to be sag. My a-arms are at a much stepper angle than that and my shocks sag an inch...

Might look that way but nope...no sag. If I pick up on the front, nothing...because the shocks are already fully extended.

Don't know yet, it's been REALLY cold and windyhere. Hope to get it out on the trails next week. But the short jaunt up and down the street was much better than before. The back might be a tad stiff but will have to see on the trails.
