Which intake would be a upgrade to the sled unit (woods)that i have now?

In what order from lowest to highest horse power do the intakes rank. 06-08 stock, sled(woods), 09 and the brp race is that correct?

I have a woods intake is it worth upgrading intakes and how much power between all of them?

Im trying to decide to go with mrrpms cams or go for a new intake for more horse power.

All i have now is a woods intake, woods pipe and power commander. Whats next for me?

Woods 12/1 pistons.
Pro Tune your PC3 (to each cylinder if you have the dough to burn).
Play with clutching to get those ponies to the dirt.

you've already got a *good* intake. but i think the '09 may flow better with the '09 filter. the BRP race intake is the best from what i've read, but good luck getting your hands on one.

talk to greg/mrrpm. he can get you setup on cams, pistons, whatever you want. and his prices are really good. the woods HC pistons are off the shelf pistons that greg can get. if you are thinking of going that route, just make it an 840 at the same time for a few bills more. that would probably be the best bang for your buck.

like Big Ern said, get your PC3 tuned for each cylinder and get your clutch tuned to maximize what you've already got and what you plan to do.

I can honestly say we have not seen great improvements with the race intake over the 09. We spent money looking into making an aluminum version of the race only intake before the 09 were released. We dropped the idea after minimal gains were found over the 09. At least this is our findings

So if i change to the 09 what kind of gain will i see over the woods? Can i use the 06 air box? If not what needs to be changed for the 09 to work?

gains are hard to guess at. you can use your 06 airbox. make sure you get an '09 air filter as they flow the best.

so the 09 filter is better than say the K&N or the twin air?

and the 09 intakes fit right up to the 06 without any extra parts?

the stock '06-08 filters flow better than the k&n and twin air, but the elbow is the killer to the air system. the stock '09 flows even better because it doesn't use that 90 degree elbow. the '09 intake fits just fine on previous models.

Your intake power order is correct. From worst to best- stock '07-08, RW/sled, stock '09, BRP race.

Most of my development work is being done on my 1004cc motors, and on them, the RW/sled is 10hp down compared to the stock '09! This is crank hp. On the chassis dyno, again, with my 1004's, the BRP race intake is 4hp better to the tire than the stock '09.

I'd say you need an '09 intake, and air filter, first, as my cams need air, and the restriction is the intake and air filter. Then, after that, install my cams. If you put my cams in first, they would still be held back by the intake and filter. Of course, a full pipe, like a LTE or Muzzy will help, if you don't have that already.
