damn cracked diff
I know there are others out there that have had this same thing happen to them and im sure there are others that are going to have this issue as we continue to pump up the hp on these can ams. I emailed mrrpm and asked him if he could fabricate some type of plates that sandwich the diff and strengthen them up. Here is a pic.

isn't that one for holding up the battery tray? as long as it isn't through to the internals, i would think you could still run it. i may be wrong, but i'd keep running it.

Well it must have some sort of torque on that spot cause it cracked. Yeah its the back, top bolt. Not sure why it would crack there. Its getting warrientied this weekend and i have a brand new spare. But i want to stop this from happening in the future.

I had my 07 do that, Biggun tightened the bolt with an impact when he put the lift on, looked just like that.

My lift has nothing to do with that spot though. I dont even know when that bolt would have ever been removed. THe catvos lift doesnt use that bolt. I know i have heard of others cracking rear diffs and thought maybe greg could design a system to re-enforce then to help with them cracking. I know there have been other post with people who have cracked the rear diffs.

Yeah that was one of them. There were a couple others over on highlifter that were the same. There might be a need and a market for a strong bracing of some type that would prevent the rear diff from twisting and breaking like that.
