If a person had a way to test for heat I would say a lot of the heat comes from belt slipage . The reason that I say this is because the 650 helx and the red EPI secondary spring seemed to lower the heat coming out of my clutch.

you are correct that much of the heat is created from the belt slipping. but voodoo isn't running big aggressive tires, so the chances of the belt slipping is far less than with a bike like mine. the muzzy on an 840 puts off some serious heat. with header wrap, i still have a red mark on my leg from riding today
