Default 3gx

My 3GX belt blew up today. Completely blew to pieces. Tore a hole in my CVT cover in the process. Ive had it since Sep. '09 and has been a great belt. I mostly rode in LOW due to running 30" Silverbacks and really didn't need high to keep up with the other bikes on the trail. I went riding today with 27" XTRs on SS212s. They are a lot lighter than the Backs, so I stayed in HIGH most of the time we were riding (about an 1 1/2-2 hours). Almost back to the truck (a Honda's clutches tore up), I took off down the road riding a wheelie from about 10mph punch. Set the fron end down while still on the throttle, and BOOM! That was the end of it. Sending it back tomorrow for warranty replacement. Don't get me wrong, this is a great product. Lasted longer than the OEM with not near as much slipping. I couldn't tell that it slipped really any the entire time using it. Just thought I'd let folks know what happened today.

I was talking about this the other day with some guys and didn't really come up with a winner. Stock vs Aftermarket.
Not sure what I will do when my belt is due for a change. Nice to hear your experiences tho!

then it should have been calibrated pretty well for the 650 helix. the comet definitely helps a TON, since the outer sheave cannot rotate different from the inner sheave
