Has anyone determined which K&N air filter most closely resembles the stock Outlander 800 filter?

I have checked out the manufacturer web page, and searched the forum, for such an obvious performance upgrade, we are way behind on this one.

I bought the one (k&n) made for the 400 Outty. The neck fits really tight, have to twist and push it on. It is also quite a bit smaller in size than the stock 800 filter. I will probably put it onmy 400 and find something better for my 800. Any sugggestions?

I picked up the K&N RX-3820-1 FILTERand theRX-3820PK PRE- FILTER. If you use these, you will have to use something like 3M black rubber auto trim mounting tape. It's sticky on both sides and about 1/16" thick. Should take 2 wraps. Then electrical tape over it, to cover the sticky. :sm:

I believe the RX-3820-1 will fit without the tape. I tried just tightening down the radiator clamp and it squashed dowmto 2.25' real easy, from 2.48".

Putting it on next week if the weather breaks. Might just rent a Redi-Heater for the garage.

What do you think about this filter the BD-6500. I found it by crossreferencing part numbers. It is the K&N filter for the Bomb DS-650.
From the description I would say it is the right size.
