:ban:I finally got my BRP HEated Grips in this week. Will be installing them this weekend. Anyone have any helpful hints on the removing of the old and installing of the new? :ban:

Any installation instructions or pics would be cool. Thanks.

Usually, winter temps average about 40 to 45 degrees during mid-day. I'm in Central Oklahoma. The wind is the real issue with teh temperature down here. It constantly blows.

We primarily got the heated gripsfor the earlier morning and later evening rides, when you don't feel much like wearing gloves...

The heated grips are easy to install the biggest PIA is getting the old grips off...they are glued on. You will most likley have to cut them off....after you get them off make sure you get all the glue so the bars are nice and smooth.

The new grips will be snug....some trick are to use hair spray or spray pain while putting the grips on. This will act as a lubricant while installing them then act like glue when it dries....never did myself didn't need to.

The wiring is plug and play just follow the instructions. You will need to drill a whole in the gauge pod...no biggy just make sure you get it where you want it.

Good luck....

Mine work great in negative digit temps..so I am guessing your hand will be cooking if its only 45.

you definitely have to cut them off i tried not to but they tore. i also had to use some lite grit sandpaper to clean the bars. then i just used soapy water and a small plastic dead blow hammer and tapped them on.i also found if you mount the switch as in the directions pic it's upside down as far as hi and low are positioned with the little sticker.

Sounds easy enough to cut off the old grips, and sand down the bars to a smooth finish.

But, on installing the new grips, it isn't necessary to use a lubricant/glue when seating them?
