Got a call from dealer last nite [3/28] storage box finally in. Went in today to pick up. The parts dude brought out a cardboard box that looked like it had been drug behind the delievery truck and dropped it on the counter. He ask me to sign for it, I had prepaid for it in Nov 05. I removed what was left of cardboard container. The box was all scratched up, when I buy a new product I don't expect perfection, but way better than this.I'm standing there looking at this thing & think to myself maybe some armorall or plastic treatment would clean it up.Then I notice where the latch is suppose to be there are 3 broken rivots & 1 missing rivot & of coarse no latch. Parts dude said he would discount box if I wanted it. I explained to him [sort of nicely] that if I wanted to bungy a cooler on the back I would have. If he can't come up with an anwser by am I'm thinking I need a soft box. the quality wasn't what I expected. glad I'm older & not in a hurry anymore. I really due like this dealer, so far, & realize that they didn't make or ship the box. I'm in the middle of selling an auto body shop, compared to all the loop holes, lawyers, legal & sba crap this is sort of mellow. best maxdun

Jeesh, I can commiserate with you. That is crappy. I had my Ricochet skids delivered thios past weekend and I was there to receive them. 2- full 800 Outty sets. the box was a disaster. I looked at the UPS guy as he was hauling it out and he looked sheepishly and said "Hey! this is how I got it, I marked it as potential damaged incase you need some help there." Well luckily all was there and well.

Shipping is an art and folks that pack to ship should know how to do that.

Muddbelly - Did they fit your ATV? I noticed there was a note specifically saying "they may not fit some Bombardier racks."

maxdun - - - I'm shopping online for a soft bag tonight and found what I am going to get here:

http://www.4atvtires.com/atvTires/sh...&cat_id=28

It's a cross between a hard and a soft bag. Plenty of room, no zippers, and it will fit our racks. I read what FLscrub said about the other bag, it did say that, but you can get the dim'ns for this bag from Tamarack home page, and it will fiteven with thesmall fuel pak brackets I carry on each side of the rear rack. It's got a lifetime mfr's warranty.

I had a Kolpin 3 compartmentsoft bag with zippers, and it failed in about five places in just 4 rides.Worthless, and it cost me $120.

(BTW, I looked atATVOutfittersfor this productor something like it first.)

Wear a patch like my avatar to hospital emergency room, clears it out fast.

Hate to say it but your dealer is an idiot for accepting the box as is. As soon as they did that, they assumed the responsibility for the damage.

Leave the box in their trusty hands and tell them to get you new stock or give you your money back...all of it, no restocking or other BS fees.

Incidently, my Ricochet box wasn't exactly in the greatest shape either. Mine had to make the journey to Canada too. I counted at least 7 different transfer points along the way with the online tracking. A few corners of the skids were peaking out. Luckily no damage.

same thing just happened to me. i was looking for this box at my dealer. he comes up with a box that is wrapped in tape, all banged up. the new brp box inside wasn't much nicer. the latch was broke off. box is not predrilled. it's about 1 in over the rear seat backrest. so i don't think it would fit in my trailer. he said i could strap it down. and he would give me 15 % off. big deal. i told him keep it. i just spent 9300 bucks on my outlander 800 max xt. i am not putting a broken box on it.

I just got the Mad Dog Extreme padded soft bag, used it at the coast this last weekend (maiden voyage) it held a bunch of stuff we had a terenchal down pour and the bag held up pretty whel. The bottem did soak up a lttle moisture, but nothing came through the top or sides, and for raining all weekend and pretty hard at some times I like this bag. The back side has a cover that pulls out to cover the bike and bag at night also pretty nice. Cabelas is the only place I could find it though.
