did they upgrade the connector for the B.U.D.S (laptob).
I'm not sure about OBDII connection.they might just share the codes? I found this info on another Can-Am site. They don't say what quads it works on I just seen that it worked for G2 and Commander owners.
Thanks anyway, nice find.

Just went outside to try mine. Its a 07 outlander 650XT. It says (Active P-codes) then a couple secounds later. It says (End). I assume if it had any, it would have listed them before it said (END)

Does this need to be done when it's running and actually throwing the code? Or can you shut off the engine and then check? I've heard it will clear otherwise?

I believe the engine should be off for this procedure.

Reading through the codes I see there is a section for air conditioning. WTF?? Never heard of a bike with AC. Perhaps the codes are simply reserved for other vehicle installations where AC is present.

Thanks Rene..... didn't know this thread existed.

Everything I've been reading says don't shut down the motor when the light comes on as that will clear the code?

I took mine once to connect to a Buds laptop 2 years after purchase. Codes were still there since 2008. It stays in the memory until it is erased with Buds witch they forgot in the first time.

That I understand but I mean for the checking yourself of the codes. Doesn't it reset after you toggle the key off? So if it threw a code and you shut the bike down and then checked it 10 minutes later you're saying it will come up using the light switch trick?

No, it will clear if you wait. If you turn the key to off, then immediately to headlights on position before it has a chance to reset and bring up your welcome screen, you can pull the codes. If you wait long enough for the welcome screen to come up, this method will not bring up any codes. Buds will always show them tho. At least until they have been cleared by a tech.
