I am looking at trying to put heat tape on the inside of my 800 Max side covers, as well as under my seat area. My problem is that I can't find heat tape anywhere in this area, and I mean anywhere! I've tried every place I can think of from auto parts stores to hardware stores with no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on the heat tape issue or where is the best place to get it? Wal-Mart had foil type tape, but I'm not sure if it is Heavy Duty enough for this project or even made for this kind of application. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I picked up some aluminum tape at a True Valuehardware store that advertised up to 600 degrees. It's been working well so far.

Somebody measured the crossover exhaust pipe temp at 600*, just what the aluminum tape is rated at.

The pipes are measuring that and higher, but the plastics around them won't be.

I got some 2000f tape 12x24,with actual fiberglass mat from my local speed shop. A real heat blocker.

Go to a Hot Rod or High performance Parts Store and you can pick from several sizes of Heat Reflective Foil Type Tape! I just picked up some today that is rated at 1500 degrees Farenheit. Got one roll of 1-3/8" X 30' roll for $13
