Does anyone know if Optima or some other similar type extream battery is available for the outlanders. I looked at the Optima site and could not find any details.

Or has anyone found a better grade battery than the OEM.

My battery was just fine 3 weeks ago but last weekend I had to steel the battery out of the Renegade to get the Outlander going, when weat the dunes.

This is more like what I was thinking about. Odessy battery's are a extream duty dry cell type battery. This model listed below is listed as compatable with the Older Outlander 400s and 330s. I am just wondering if it would work on the newer 800s.

Here are the dimensions (+/- 1/16 inch): 6 7/8" x 3 7/16" x 6 1/8 of the OEM Outlander 800 battery. I think the PC545 Odessy might just fit. Anyone have in thoughts on this.

PC 545 Specs:
 • 545 cranking amps for 5 seconds
 • 495 cranking amps for 10 seconds
 • 420 cranking amps for 20 seconds
 • Short circuit current over 1200A
 • 19 minute reserve capacity with 25amp load
 • Female brass terminal w/M6 SS bolt
 • Length 6 13/16"
 • Width 3 3/8"
 • Height 5 1/8"
 • Weight 11.0 lbs

Odyssey design:
 • 2 year full warranty
 • Rugged Drycell sealed design
 • Military grade
 • Vibration resistant
 • 60% more starting power
 • Deep discharge reserve power
 • 2 year storage life
 • 8-12 year design life
 • Can be mounted flat or upright

The AGM batteryI indicated is:

3 1/4" W

6.75" L

6 1/8" H

This was measured off the $48 battery I have on my desk. It is supposed to be a direct replacement for a OEM YTX20-LBS, as he tnumbers indicate.

remember the PC545 is almost 1.0" LOWER than the OEM battery. If you go to the Renegade batt case and metal hold-down you would need some kind of 1" thick spacer either above or below.

How much are the Odyssey batts anyway?

When I replaced the battery on my Arctic Cat it was about $90 delivered, I think it was the #680. When the one in my Outty goes I'll get another Odessey.

07-650-MAX XT
Ricochete ~ Crutchfield 2+1 ~ PRP Stabilizer ~ 25" Bighorn's ~ Kewltek brakes ~ Alumatech Guards
Dalton ~ Fasst bars ~ Cannon/mrrpm oil cooler ~ 10" Rigid LED light-bar + many little "custom" things
Gave to stepson, without a ride for awhile.

What about going with that same Odessy battery but the MJ model (MJ=metal jacket model). That would offer even more protective shielding, sincethe battery is in kind of a high exposure area on the machine.

Note: that metal case does increase the demensions a little bit.

PC 545MJ Specs:
 • 545 cranking amps for 5 seconds
 • 495 cranking amps for 10 seconds
 • 420 cranking amps for 20 seconds
 • Short circuit current over 1200A
 • 19 minute reserve capacity with 25amp load
 • Female brass terminal w/M6 SS bolt
 • With metal jacket
 • Length 7.00"
 • Width 3.37"
 • Height 5.17"
 • Weight 12.6 lbs

Odyssey design:
 • 2 year full warranty
 • Rugged Drycell sealed design
 • Military grade
 • Vibration resistant
 • 60% more starting power
 • Deep discharge reserve power
 • 2 year storage life
 • 8-12 year design life
 • Can be mounted flat or upright

The PC 545MJ is a direct replacement for:

Here is another higher end battery that I have found not sure if its on par with the oddyssey battery. It isby a company called Deka. This battery is an exact fit to our OEM YTX20B-LS

Deka ETX20L Sealed Motorcycle Battery

Premium quality absorbed glass mat technology (AGM) is ideal for ATV’s, motorcycles, personal watercraft and snowmobiles.

The Deka Power Sports AGM Battery was designed for more than performance; it was designed for the enthusiast. Completely spill proof and leak proof; frequent replacement and high maintenance are over! The AGM technology increases power while improving rider and environmental safety. The key to this technology is the highly porous microfiber separators, which completely absorb and trap the electrolyte. Molded top and side connections terminals provide versatility, increased strength and durability. The Deka Power Sports AGM Battery provides the most advanced power and value in the industry and are made in the U.S.A.
