Battery ?????

Does anyone know if Optima or some other similar type extream battery is available for the outlanders. I looked at the Optima site and could not find any details.

Or has anyone found a better grade battery than the OEM.

My battery was just fine 3 weeks ago but last weekend I had to steel the battery out of the Renegade to get the Outlander going, when weat the dunes.

This is more like what I was thinking about. Odessy battery's are a extream duty dry cell type battery. This model listed below is listed as compatable with the Older Outlander 400s and 330s. I am just wondering if it would work on the newer 800s.

Here are the dimensions (+/- 1/16 inch): 6 7/8" x 3 7/16" x 6 1/8 of the OEM Outlander 800 battery. I think the PC545 Odessy might just fit. Anyone have in thoughts on this.

The AGM batteryI indicated is:

3 1/4" W

6.75" L

6 1/8" H

This was measured off the $48 battery I have on my desk. It is supposed to be a direct replacement for a OEM YTX20-LBS, as he tnumbers indicate.

remember the PC545 is almost 1.0" LOWER than the OEM battery. If you go to the Renegade batt case and metal hold-down you would need some kind of 1" thick spacer either above or below.

How much are the Odyssey batts anyway?

When I replaced the battery on my Arctic Cat it was about $90 delivered, I think it was the #680. When the one in my Outty goes I'll get another Odessey.

What about going with that same Odessy battery but the MJ model (MJ=metal jacket model). That would offer even more protective shielding,sincethe battery is in kind of a high exposure area on the machine.

Note: that metal case does increase the demensions a little bit.
