Hey Guys,

Just curious if anyone has any information on Can- Am jumping into the Power Steering market like Yamaha and Honda? This may have been asked before, but I did not find anything on it. Looks like the units have held up pretty well and make a huge difference. The only way I would trade in my Max is if someone comes out with a two-seater with power steering. Any rumors out there?

Haven't heard of anything here. Powers steering will add to the cost I'm sure.

When I went frommy AC tothe Outy, it felt like I got power steering, in comparison.

Haven't heard anything about BRP going power steering, personally I don't find the Outy steering tiring or difficult at the end of a long day.

Have you put a Precision stabilizer on your max? I have one, sure don't miss those stingers I used to feel.

Edit: Never mind, I looked at your sig, I see that you have the goods.

Mnt Outy,

Yes, I have the Precision Stabilizer. I have had a few major shoulder surgeries and so the constant back and forth turning of the bars kill me after several miles. The stabilizer makes a big difference on the ruts and rocks, but it makes the steering a tad firmer on tight switchbacks. After 25 - 50 miles of riding, I'm out of action for about a week. If it's long trails and fire roads, I'll usually do close to 100 miles a day with no aftereffects. It looks like the PS accomplishes both tasks of easing up the back and forth as well as knocking out the jarring effects of rocks and roots. It looks like PS has worked well for other manufacturer's and I was curious if Cam-Am might use that technology. As much as I love my Outy, the first company to come up with a 2up that has power steering will get my money the first day it hits the floor.

In your situation, I'd do the same!

Power steering=more weight and another thing to break! I'm sure it does have a place in this hobby though.

Trail Rider,

I agree with you and that would be my preference. I have my Outy set up perfect for me and I don't want another make of ATV. However, PS is the only thing that would make me switch. That is how important it is to me! I don't want to go to a SxS. I want my ATV!I figured someone would come up with a PS unit that mounts up similar to my PRP stabilizer. The mark up on the Yamaha's is around $500 to $800or so for the PS, so that's about the same as my PRP. However, I know there is a lot more involved, such as ECM communication, wiring, etc. If they ever come up with something like that, I will be all over it! As far as 2up's, I've checked them all and nothing compares to the Outy. Polaris is making moves, but I recently looked at the new Luxury Touring model and it simply does not compare to the Outy! Plain and simple. Once you feel the power and torque of the 800 and power up mountains at 14,000 feet like they aren't even there with two people and all of their gear (while all the others are sitting still or struggling to make it up with one rider) You understand why we are so passionate about the Outy and it's capabilities! Also of note, I keep hearing about this Visco Lock problem? I ride all over and in every condition. I can go places no one else can and I have NEVER found the Visco a problem? Maybe I just haven't encountered the right situation yet, but I have done a lot of heavy rock riding and never even broke traction. I think this Visco problem deal has been blown Way out of proportion!:2cent:
