Just what it says ...

Thought that would allow most to skim past if they weren't interested ... A little more description ... I was doing some slow technical riding last Sunday, and I notice that when I ever so slightly ease into the gas, and the clutch engages and starts to move the quad, the quad jerks as if there were a high spot on the sheave ... After It gets to a certain point and engages fully it is non-existant and smooth as can be ...

Do all outlanders go:

light throttle, quad starts to move, and it goes jerk-jerk-jerk-jerk and then smooths out when fully engaged?

sort of a dumb question I guess I just want to see if I have an issue starting to rear it's head ... thanks

mine has a smooth take off. apply the throttle very slowly and it all of a sudden will start to move and contines smoothly. sounds like you have a belt grabbing

Mine was doing the exact same thing. Took it to the dealer and they cleaned out all the dirt and dust that had accumulated inside the housing. Improved a whole lot, but still has a little jerk.

Mine will do it, but it seems it only does it when rolling along on flat ground, and then only for about 1 tire rotation. If I have any load on it(uphill, log, rock) it is not noticeable. :2cent:

sounds like the belt to me. pull the cvt cover off and took a good look at the entire belt on all sides.

So Oso.. with that setup you have the smoother engagement of the finger mod... without the higher engagement rpm because of the spring not being changed? while I think of it, the dalton fingers are lighter.. meaning perhaps a slightly earlier rpm engagement? Just curious..
