I asked my dealer about the Isoflex and he replied that they just use synthetic grease. His only admoniton was to use a very small amount. Go figure.

There is a tight tolerance in there, no room for alot of grease. :2cent:

On the 50 gm tube of thekluber isoflextopas nb 52 it says 'special rolling bearing grease', made in Austria, contains N-alkylated benzotriazole (may produce an allergic reaction, wooohoooh!).

Are you saying this is to be used on the one way bearing? If so, should this be applied each time it is removed? I have removed mine several times and never put anything back on it but regular grease. I have noticed a sueaky noise that doesn't seem to get any worse. Mostly hear it through the snorkel when turning the engine off. I'm glad you started this post, could save me some trouble in the near future.

yup, where the one way slides over the two small plungers or caps with the small springs underneath them.. this is where you are supposed to grease, that and where the one way meets the primary spring cup.. Refer to the pic of the clutch breakdown in your manual.. they are indicated there as well.

In the 400 manual it specifies anti-seize. That is what I use.

The 400 has a slightly different setup in the clutch than the other models do.. will have to take a peek at my manual and see whats up...

Good thread. Lots of confusion about this 'magic' grease.

Just a note, there are 28 posts to about 287 views. As a rule of thumb, if a thread has one post for every ten views, I consider it to be a well received topic. :2cent:
