I will wind up getting it from the local dealer, the problem was that they were not open when I needed it. I wish the local auto parts stores would carry stuff like that.

Update...The "throwout bearing" (the clutch rides on it as it slides back and forth) is the culprit to the problem. This is locking itself to the wear surface on the clutch and it is not disengaging completely there is a maintenace bulletin for the dealers to grease this area. I hope this info helps somebody else.

Just got off the phone with the dealer and he said he had to replace all the clutches, and it was a defect.

my 400 outy used to do the same thing when I got into deep water and got water in the clutch. I would drain the water and then the belt would stay engaged and stall the engine. The dealer pressure washed the clutch out and it would be fine until the next deep water mishap. I've had my 800 belt wet but after I drained it all was well.

The seal is leaking around my belt box and my dealer is replacing it this week (gotta love the speedy parts delivery)I think it is from fine dirt getting in with the water and gumming up the clutch.

Is that the gasket to the cover or the inner seal?

The cover gasket looks as if it was not installed correctly after they did the clutch recall work and it rubbed on the clutch and wore down half of it so it doesnt seal any longer when it is mated up with the other side of the housing. It has been sealed with RTV while I have been waiting for them to get the new seal.

That happened to lamigra when they didthe recallclutch work. The gasket was folded over ormisaligned and it leaked....can't be too hard to make sure it's on right!
