Thats what I say, now they have to wait for a new bearing and the sleave that the bearing rides on again. The problem is that dirt is getting in there with water and the dirt is sticking to the grease on the bearing and when the clutch slides back and forth it wears out that surface. When you are riding you normally dont take the clutch all of the way through its potential motion which causes one area to wear more than others, the clutch will then hang up on a groove that is created in that area. It appears as though this problem will finally be taken care of but we will see. I discussed this with Mike Penland then got back to the dealer with what we determined the culprit to be, my dealer was not too happy to hear that I was discussing this problem with others. Maybe he was afraid people were going to hear about the quality of his service and find it to be sub-par, in all honesty he has done a great job getting the machine in and out of there and he has given the problem alot of attention; it was just too bad that the customer had to tell him what the problem was. I also told him to order the other parts at the same time he ordered the gasket, maybe he will listen to me next time!

ditch.. sounds like you have debris in the primary clutch.. specifically the one way bearing. This bearing is what the belt rides on while in gear and stationary. A cleaning of the primary and regrease of the one way bearing might be in order. Do a lot of mudding do ya?

Since you've already cleaned the clutch components the only thing I can think of is to adjust the shift linkage, either that or the one way bearing is bad and allowing the belt to either spin, or try to spin the secondary.

:scr: I don't see the secondary spinning in any gear until the rpm's are raised in the primary. Then park or neutral would cancel it out. This kind of defeats the purpose of the one way bearing.

My secondary does engage in both park and neutral. My secondary does not engage in any other gear until the proper engagement rpms are reached, although sometimes it does try to grab.

yup, even though the one way bearing will allow the belt to "freewheel" when in gear, once you put in N or park, there's still enough resistance or drag at the one way to spin the secondary. Thats why you hear the whirring sound when in those gear positions.. the secondary is spinning.
