Yep, there is not much getting around it, the exhaust sound sucks! I would assume the new XP won't sound much different. My RZR has a Weber motor. The basic design of the cylinders/crank is the same though. The only reason it doesn't sound quite as bad is because of the turbo. But it still sounds like crap compared to a V-twin like a Rotax! It just doesn't get much better than that.

Still doesn't sound as good as a V twin but that thing really has some power.

Yeah lots of power, but it sounds like a single banger, doesnt have the slow rumble the rotax vtwins have, this one sounds more like a drag racer

I like the RZR, but seriously, the difference in those racing videos is pretty small. I sat in a friend's new X model, the cab and comfort of the Commander is awesome. I think I may buy one.

Wow. That razor has some serious power. I think I'm gonna get one and put a turbo on it.

Haven't posted here since divorce forced the sale of both my renegades and outlander 800. I have driven both commander and xp 900 several times. The commander is a luxury car in comparison with beautiful fit and finish. I had a long list of "pro's" for the commander and only one for the rzr 900. The one for the rzr was simply "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" It is just stupid fun to drive and coming off modified renegades I love the power. The rzr allows you to do gravedigger cyclones and land jumps that would have totaled other SxS models. I did buy the xp 900 as I was mainly going to use it for just ripping around, no utility. I was pleased to see that the aftermarket clutch for the can am awakened the big rotax power that had to be there all along. I have a new exhaust coming for the xp which by the videos add about 2 quads in 300 ft vs a stock xp. I imagine that a drag with a commander and a new clutch and a xp with an aftermarket exhaust will be close but my money is on the can am, still a fan of that rotax power. However the handling of the xp will not soon be bested by the can am. My kids drive this and the stability of the xp was a real big factor in buying it. On side hills and slides it sits where the commander would roll. If can am makes an all out performance SxS I will have money down on it before it ever hits the market but for now its PoPo for me.
