I dont consider the 700 V a ute but i sure dont consider it a sport in the traditional sense. Trail ready weight on one is what like 700lbs or something. Plus they're an auto! I think they are like Honda's 700xx, something sporty for ute riders.

They are hella fast once you start doing stuff to them, i know that much

I have ridden stock and lightly modified raptors and personally don't care for them much, they seem slow to me for a 686. they are torqy but seem to lack any top end. I haven't ridden the ds650, but it looks really big to take out on the trails, I think probably better suited to desert racing. I would find a used renegade 800 if I were you.

I can tell you cuz I own one that the raptor700 deff feels slow to me as well even compared to the older 660, but race them and you will see the difference. I have said it before and will say it again the raptor 700 is the fastest accelerating quad you can buy bone stock. I am sure someone will chime in and say no my blank will outrun a raptor but I have drag raced everything out there and beat them all on my bone stock raptor 700.

I have seen other bone stock quads beat raptor 700s, a suzuki 450 kawasaki 450, polaris preditor 500 believe it or not yes. I used to ride with a guy that had one, and it wouldn't beat my bone stock z400, he was a lot heavier than me, but for all that displacement I'm not impressed. I think even yamaha's own yfz450 will beat one in a drag, and completely out handle the 700. but then after I got my Outty I lost almost all interest in sport quads.

rider ability plays a big role in a drag race

I believe a yfz 450 will outrun a 700 hands down in a 0-60mph race. Then the top end of the raptor will quickly catch the 450 and pass it.The 450 is geared for short drags stock

I think the raptor is the better of the 2 just the weight difference alone makes it better I think. Nottaking any thing away from the ds650 It is just to big and bulky for me. I would go with the KFX700 before the ds650. Both will hold there own ion the drag strip but I think there are more options for modding on the raptor over the ds
