I agree with trailrider! I have an 800 on the bench right now and it will not shift sometimes without turning the output on the tranny or the input on the tranny. When you're humping your quad you're essentially just turning the tranny output a bit allowing the selecter to fall into gear.

keep in mind guys that this mod relies solely on the make of the bearings. stock bearings are ntn 6808 (crap)....i used a bearing made by RBL 61808. use what you want that fitts, but when you get it apart and find that the new bearings are as stiff as the stock ones, your not going to gain anything....make sure the new bearings are free'r then the stock ones. if anyone looked at the video above, that is what the new br=earings should be like....

good luck guys, it helped for me:ban:

I firmly believe this is a crock of od:. I just got done greasing the one-way on the 500. Damn Dayco belt has a crack in it already BTW.uke:

This is the second time I've tested this, did it first on my 800. With the belt off the machine I tried shifting it. No difference, still have to hump it. If it don't shift any better without the belt, how in the world is it going to shift better with new bearings?

I'd be happy to eat my words but this makes no freaking sense.

dude, why do you think i would post something if it hadn't worked wonders for me, as well as a few others? like i really want a bunch of guys to spend $30-$40 and an hour of their time and then be p%$#ed off at me? i don't understand what trying to shift without the belt has to do with anything.

i changed to a synthetic chaincase oil at 10 hrs.

nothing.

i drained a couple oz. and put in the schaeffers moly e.p.

nothing.

i tore down the primary, cleaned it and re-lubed with isoflex.

nothing.

2 new bearings and it shifts like butter. i don't understand why this bothers you? maybe it's time to start using an oem belt? i haven't heard anything good about the daycos - you get what you pay for. jury is still out on the epi severe duty, as far as i know. when these guys get their bearings and do the swap, then maybe you'll believe it.

they are only turning when you're in park or neutral.
