Not exactly sure yet....the length of the harness will probably determine where they will go....up as high as possible. You will see they are fairly small and thin. They are supposed to be waterproof and all the connections except the headlight connection are sealed. It's the factory headlight connection that will have to be protected....as I said in an earlier post, I have "sealed" other large connections by using large heat shrink, lots of dielectric grease, and tie wraps at both ends of the heat shrink....also using "liquid tape" in the ends of the heat shrink before putting the tie wraps on helps.

ifferent vehicles

I've looked at a few sites where they claim to have "custom " kits for lots of different types of vehicles, but basically I think they are just basic kits with the correct bulb and headlight connector?? The biggest difference with the Outty is the headlight is sealed from the back, unlike automotive setups. The only modification required is to get the headlight connector outside the sealed headlight. Let us know how the kits look. Also is it worth $250 for a small mod like this?

I copied the following information off of an HID kit description on ebay. The product is slim Digital ballasts with the HID kit. What brought my attention to it is that it mentions prevent failed ignition. I know some people have had problems with there atv not starting if the HIDs are turned on before the machine is started?

I just wanted to post it up for discussion. Here is the Item number:400102334764

WHY DIGITAL?
AN INTELLIGENT LIGHTING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM THAT PROVIDES INCREASED ENERGY SAVING, PREVENT FAIL IGNITION, EASIER MAINTENANCE, PROLONG THE LIFE OF THE BULB BY 30%. THIS IS A BREAK THROUGH TECHNOLOGY OVER THE PREVIOUS ANALOG DESIGN AND THIS DESIGN IS DRAMATICALLY IMPORVED OVER CONVENTIONAL BALLASTS.

yea i no what you mean with getting the connector out of the boot, but with the eagle eye kit it comes with the new connector and the boot.so theres no slicing & siliconeing things to keep dry. the stock headlight wire unplugs maybe 10 to 12" up from the headlight. just unplug that & plug the new eagle eye one in & put your headlight back together. also theres no need for a relay like the other kits need, were you here about it shutting your quad down. just somthing to think about....

The older ballasts were larger (about 1" thick) and came with a standard automotive relay in the wiring harness to turn on voltage to the lights. You also had to wire a battery positive and negative, and run the harness from one side to the other side. The slim ballast setups use a "digital" relay setup, and I sure they are talking about failed ignition of the lights, not the vehicle. I do on occasion get one light which does not "fire". Simply turning the lights off and back on usually corrects problem. The slim ballast kits are definitely the way to go for simplicity of install.
