Hi All,
I posted earlier about having a seal leak on my outty. When I got it torn apart I discoverd that the seal was not leaking. There is a rubber tube looking part on top of the differential. I am assuming it has fluid in it. My question is what is the purpose of this part. In the can am parts web site it is called a soufflet Bellow. It is # 43. If anyone could answer I would appreciate it.
The purpose of the bellows is so that when the diff fluid gets hot and expands the air which is trapped in the diff won't blow/leak past the seal. The expansion is absorbed by the bellows. If you see fluid around it, either it has a hole in it or it is leaking where it is mounted.
I am curious to this also. I have been putting in 10o.z in the rear. I guess this equates to 300ml??? Now I got to go dig up some cross references...:th_smiliepullhair:
Owners manual says 250.
Shop manual says 300 and 250, depends on which page you look at. This is the 2007 model edition. I'm telling you it's 250, especially if you do the stick measurement.
