Default Extended warranty or not

Is it worth spending $1150 for an extended 5yr warranty or not. I don't plan on major abuse but will be trail riding and hunting from the unit. Just bought it today. What do you recommend?

Consumer reports says extended warranties are not always worth the money, but With the way things are made today, I don't know if i would take their word.

We need to know the exact year of your can-am ( earlier models had several problems that the company has since fixed).

Is the Warranty full-service warranty or just the regular 6 month full warranty, then after 6 month a $50 deductible?

Sorry, It's a new 2008 650XT. warranty is not BPR. It's a warranty service and has no deductible. Looking a about $1200 for 5 yr. Sounds good but if this thing is anywhere near what my Honda is, I'll never use it.

If it is not a factory offered warranty I would say no way. I work at a Ford dealer and I see it all the time with aftermarket warrantys, they suck and some dealers may not even honor them.

I have owned 4 Can Am 800s, 1 Outty and still own 3 Renegades and have only had a warranty issue with the 07 Rene. It had a sensor go bad the first day I had it. I ride mine like I stole them. They are pretty much bullet proof. If something is going to go wrong I feel it will happen in the first few rides. But that is just my experience.

the dealer is able to offer you the 30 month B.E.S.T. plan and it should cost you $250.00.

Can-Am - ATV

call brp and ask them yourself.

Thanks guys, that is why I turned them down upon purchase. Never had much luck with second hand warranty. I will look into the BRP plan though.
