2004 Outlander 400 front and rear driveshaft removal
Hey guys,
New to the BRP group, from Windsor Nova Scotia, Canada. I found some really good info on here so far. Seems as though I read the common problems that my bike may have and then it ends up happening to my bike! Like the temp sensor, and the voltage regulator, now those two... Easy fix, than I noticed a bunch of complaints of the bottom part of the frame, so I slid under to take a looksee and BAM, gone to sh*t from the swing arm back was flat. So first thing I did was go get skidplates, next day broken frame, right under the engine between the motor mounts. So I had to take the engine out than take it down to the machine shop to get fixed.... The problem I had was getting BOTH drive shafts out. But I was able to work around it. I took the bolts out of the rear diff and slid it back.... still not really enough room but some how managed to twist it out when we pulled the motor out. As for the front I had to remove the gas tank to beable to pull the engine back so the front could slide out. So now all and dandy other than I need to put the engine back in this weekend.... What is the correct way to get these off and on so I know what I need to do to beable to put the engine back in the frame!
Thanks guys
