2011 outlander max 800 xt

so i bought my self a 2011 outlander 800 max xt about 3 weeks ago. i love it yes like everyone says they get hot!!! i left vermont where i live wiht only 26 miles on it because i was leaving for canada for a week. i just got back yesterday and had some issues when i was up there. its under warrenty but wanted to know what you all thought. so one day we set out for a 306 mile trip and about 115 miles in i blew a belt so at this point i had 500 miles on this 4 wheeler. so when we went to change my belt on the side of this drit road with log trucks going by us that where 14 foot wide and where weighting in at at 150 ton. we noticed that on my clutch cover where the air is exhausted was all melted and had a huge hole in the side of it where the heat tape was not placed. i checked the intake aire and the screen was cleas. why would this happen?? we where running about 50 mph?? please tell me what i was doing worng or is it not me

Welcome to the forum. Man that's got to be hot to melt the CVT exhaust! 800's run hot anyway so probably not you. I would bring it to the dealer and have them look at it to start. Let us know how you make out from there.
