HMF Swamp slipon on a 1000

Does anyone have the regular swamp series slipon on a 1000 ? I dont want to spend the coin if it just looks aftermarket but sounds the same. They say 1-2 db over stock but dont know how much louder that it actually is. Cant be much.

Also if a fuel tuner is necessary prior to running , are there any options for the 1000 other than a pcv or tunemonster . Dont want to install and run lean.

The only pipe I know of for the 1000 that requires a fuel controller so far is the full Muzzy. The other pipes aren't making enough power to require more fuel. However there may be gains to be had with the PCV by adding fuel and tuning the fuel tables.
I haven't heard the slip on but the XL would make the most noise.

my brother has the HMF "quiet race" series slip on exhaust on his 06 outlander 800. Its supposed to be the quietest one that HMF makes and it sounds AWSOME....Idling; it will sound the same but as soon as you're on the throttle it BARKS!! And yes its pretty loud when your on the throttle. The swamp series will not sound nothing like stock...haha it will rumble pretty good!

I know the Swamp Series XL is louder hence the XL or extra loud per HMF.

But they say the regular series swamp is only 1-2 dbs over stock . Is this at idle or throughout the rpm range I wonder.

I know the Tri County trails near me have a message right on their website that they strictly enforce stock sound levels.

They probably dont even know how , just ticket a guy with an after market label on the exhaust. I dont want to be a nuisance guy but a better sound would be a good thing.

Get the loud one and the quiet core that you can just slip on when you need it to be quiet

Anyone have the swamp and or XL in the 1000?. Any vids that we can listen to? Smoker, I am in the same situation, do not know which exhaust to get. Dying to buy one but do not want to make a mistake. A friend told me today that the swamp is the only pipe that will limit the water going back into the bike if you swamp it, anyone heard of that? If that were true I would think HMF would be marketing that feature. Hard to believe that one. RKC I think you mentioned you were on the fence about which one you might consider getting, anything new swaying your mind?

Your buddy is referencing the fact that the inlet is tig welded so water wont leak through a seam . Of course HMF is stating this with the important part being if you use their snorkel exhaust add on. Without the snorkel , you kill the motor with exhaust under water, the tig welds wont help.

I have a regular swamp on my Max and I like the sound, not to loud but a nice rumble under power. Have it on my 800 for over two years now and no issues. I'm 99% sure that's what I am going with on my 1000. Here's my 800 under power;
