Default handling difference between gen 1 and gen 2 outlander

have read how the new outlanders,,,are supposed to be better handling then the older style,,but reading how the new gen 2,,has the same soft front shocks,,has higher seat height,,assuming this means a higher center of gavity,,i am trying to figure out,,what makes the new gen 2 better ?,,have not ridden one yet,, but i find it hard to believe,,it will out handle my 2011 outty xxc,, or maybe even a stock gen 1 outlander,,

Ok, I have not ridden the other either so I can't comment. Just curious.

An outlander xxc is a renegade with racks and bigger plastic, a valid comparison would be the 2012 renegade xxc. Your bike, clearly aimed at GNCC racing better outhandle a utility quad.

I love the xxc, I almost bought one and then heard they were coming out with new ones so I waited. I bought the 2012 outlander but I'll be kicking myself if they release a 2013 outlander xxc.

I've ridden both the g1 and g2 outlanders and I prefer the g2.

I test rode the new 1000 and to me it didn't seem any better than the g1's. It felt a lot bigger and if anything, more clumsy. But that was on pretty limited seat time. I think the guys that say they handle Bette. Are guy with them an trying to justify em to us.

So a xxc outlander is a renegade with more plastic and racks what do you have with a Outlander and good Elka or Fox shocks? Is there a difference that makes the Outlander never as good as a Renegade in handling no matter what shocks?

I agree with bkab. It felt way to big to handle better than mine. The front was stiffer stock to stock over an 800 but mine with hpgs/hd springs felt better. This is my first impression as I have yet to hammer down on a trail with a 1000.
