Default Missing when there's a heavy load on the winch?

Yesterday i got stuck really bad. Ended up leaving the quad overnight in the mudhole. Last night when i went to winch myself out and spin tires at the same time it would miss really bad and stalled once. This was in really thick mud and there would be a very heavy load on the winch(was pulling out at a 45 degree angle). Tires were having hard time turning. Ended up smoking my belt and left it till today. Had the handwarmers and lights on and thats it. This is the first time i have used the winch so dont know if its normal(pulls too much voltage with heavy loads)? Also brakes are not working great today have to pump them to work. Any ideas on causes or fixes?

Really man, that is stuck! To start you have to run nothing but your winch, turn all sources of battery draw off. All of them! Even turn your DPS to the MIN setting. No handwarmers or headllights EVER when winching. Get as much winch cable out as you can, the most strength in your winch is in the last wrap on your winch drum. In that kind of mud, WINCH first, don't bother trying to spin your wheels until you are breaking free of the suction, nothing will spin wheels bogged down like that.

Edit: and always try to pull straight on.

Maybe you should carry a fold-up shovel. That mud looks like concrete.

I also have aftermarket headlight bulbs(not HID) so they might draw a little more. DPS was on min and didnt even realize handwarmers were on. Fuel pump was replaced once already under warranty so hope thats not it. That picture was the next day since i left it over night after i got mad for smoking my belt. Thanks rkc05 your post helps a lot. We had to take the tractor so i could pull straight since it was muddy a far way off. Thanks for all the winching tips! Happy the missing was my fault and not an electrical problem.

That's pure abuse of the machine. These machines were never designed for that type of abuse. Are you guys for real. WTF!!!!!!! Why don't you drive through wet concrete. I read post after post of people complaining about things breaking. Everyone wants BRP to cover under warranty. Would you drive your cars/trucks this way?

also if it hasn't been mentioned it always comes in handy, especially in that kind of mud is some extra tow straps and a heavy duty snatch block to double your winch.

Seriously? Settle down, at one Time or another we all ride mud and sometimes it's really bad or in this case thick mud, no reason to be an a$$ about it! I have seen way worse than this first hand and never any damage to the machine.

Yes we all want the warranty to work but I think this is just a quick couple of pics of a stuck machine.

Cheers

sure would!!!!!!!!!! why own an atv if you're afraid to use it? i treat all my vehicles the same way, to the bar. if they break, they break, i'll buy better parts next time and fix it right for the second round.

the guys have to complain here because if they complained to their wives about breaking stuff on their toy they'd be in real trouble, haha.
