I just got my November issue of Dirt Wheels and in it there is a really good article about Epic Racings 80hp, 90mph desert racing Outy. The Tag line on the article is "The World's fastest utility quad?" Well in the article it is mentioned that there were 8 changes made to the 07 Outy, based on R&D from factory race teams around the country, like Epics desert race team. The article did not mention what the changes were, just that there were 8 or more changes made, based off racing R&D. Does anyone know what changes they are talking about?

Well,
I am not really sure about the exact changes but..........from what I have heard on this forum and others is that there is somewhat of a delay with the visco-lok before it engages. On my 2007.....with the stock tires.....I have to say that I do not have to really wait for the visco-lok to engage. I mean it is pretty much instantaneous, all 4 wheels digging and starting to dig at the same time. I noticed this when I was pulling out some fence posts recently. Posts were on the side of a limestone driveway.................with me rigged up and pulling across it. All 4 wheels started pulling at the same time.................everytime.

When shifting into 4wd I was under the impression the quadwent into 3wd and only went into 4wd if the front drive wheel lost traction.
Is everyone agreed that is how the viscolok works?
This is all discussed in the 'sticky topics' forum.

I know one thing that they didn't change was the design on the CVT cover. They all warp eventually.

1999 - speaking of battery straps above, and problems with loose battery conn'ns, that was you wasn't it?, do you carry a spare battery?
I'm thinking of sticking an extra with a pigtail charger wire into the rear storage compartment, hooked up in parallel, as discussed on a thread awhile back.

So what was changed, you mention the strap is fastened to the front, I am picturing it based on your description as being about the same as it is on the 06' but the front strap is permanently hooked so it can't come off and cause all the problems like the on eon the 06' does. Also by stronger so you mean a thicker strap than the 06'?
That would be great if they got that G#(*%(* D#QW$ strap fixed.
Thats great news . It should me I can get the 07' parts and fix mine up with them.

Ya its happened twice to me, the first time it took multiple trips to the dealer andover twomonths of wild running issues before we found the problem.
I do not carry a spare battery, I am afraid that if not really, really well secured you could end up with a real, real bad acid related mess on your hands. I would also have some reservations about altering any of the electrical system, just based on the problem I had with a very slight voltage flux from a cable that was still a little more than hand tight. The electronic system would seem to be in my experience, a very, very sensitive one.
