They need to get their stories straight over there. Here's the email I got today from HL.
We are working on the lift kit, cv guards and springs. It will take 6 weeks on the cv guards and lift kit. The springs are going to take longer. I will check on the clutch kit. I think our supplier is working on it and should be ready soon.

I have had a blown seal on a rear shock for a couple of months now, but have been holding off on the fix. I assume it is under warranty and was hoping to work it out with a service department to put the HPG's on the rear. I already have Works on the front, but nowit sounds like I may have been waiting for nothing regarding the rear shock upgrade. I know therewill bea wide range of critiques regarding ride and comfort on any new suspension, but so far it sounds like the fronts are a definate improvement. When considering the price of the only other alternatives, they are probably the best bang for yer buck. I have never thought myself an impatient person, but it is time to fix the bike. I will have to pay twice as much for the Works shocksknowing they areoverkillfor what I think I need, butat least I will know they are enough.Am I disappointed? you bet.

i personally think bomb knows that if they stiffen up on the springs to give you the advertised height and decrease the shock responce time the rest of the machine can not handle it . these frames are junk .

I totally disagree. I've owned 3 Outlanders and have never had a frame failure. My first one had 2500 miles with no skid plates when I sold it. Two years later the guy is still running it.......

I was thinking more of putting the front shocks and spring on both front and rear
Anybody have any thoughts on this one? I think it sounds pretty good.

Since they have changed the dimension of where the 'lugs' for the adjuster is positioned on the hpg rear shock, it may be possible to run the stiffer front HD spring on the rear shock. When I get home I am going to look into that.

I agree that BPS missed the boat on the front shocks/springsbut I still believe that they did their homework on the replacements. Now if some of you are experienced enough to know if moving the front to the rear and vice versa makes the machine better than than them more power to you. I doubt it though. I have been around a long time and installeda lot of after market shocks. Maybe I was just lucky but I always foundthe manufacturer's recommendation to be right on.With one exception all my new pickups came with poor OEM shocks. My dealer mounted thethe first addition HD springs on my front OEM shocks. The shock dampening rate seems to control the spring travel just fine on my fully loaded Max XT. The ground clearance is only10 1/4"so I ordered the HPGs for the front only. The rears seem to be working ok for now. Everyonehas stated they like the new shocks. It looks like it allcomes down to whether you want to spend a couple hundred more on your $10K bike to make it handle better. Later! Frank

I agree the factory engineers should have it right. If you have put both the front HD springs/hpg shocks and the rear "HD" springs/hpg shocks on and have felt the difference in the preload and sag, you know what my concerns are. The front has absolutly no sag. The rears have 1 inch of sag unloaded and about 2 inches of sag with a rider on it . That is not right. That is why I feel they are maybe trying to compensate for the XT winch and possibly snow plow use. If you look at the size of the spring coils, the front HD is at least 35% bigger than the rear HD. I can't give a ride report yet because I haven't been out, but with the Tri-States coming up I will get a pretty good idea of how they work.
