A couple Can-Am Accessory questions...

Hi all,

I am a proud new owner of a 2016 Can-Am Outlander Max XT 650. I love this thing! But I had some questions about accessories and fit. There are a few accessories that I'd like to get over time, but would like to know if they are capable of all fitting together. My dealer has never installed the flasher and horn kit EVER. So I'd like to make sure all these accessories fit together before I buy too much of them and find out after the fact after they are all bought. Also, does the flasher and horn kit include the European style controls with the integrated horn button and directional flasher? I have been unable to determine this from an online search.

Will the below accessories all fit together?
Black Deluxe Fairing 715001232
Low Windshield 71500127
Aux. Windshield Lighting 715001214
Deluxe Mirror Kit 715002353
Extreme Front Bumper 715001286 (Already Have)
Flasher & Horn Kit 715001358 (Appears uncompatible w/extreme bumper)
Garmin Montana 650T GPS 715002452 (Mounts inside deluxe fairing?)
Heated Handgrips & Throttle Combo 715001849 (Fit with Deluxe Fairing?)

Thanks so much everyone.

Yep all the parts are made to fit together. The fairing fits over the handlebars and the windshield and light install into the fairing. The mirrors fit with the fairing installed as well. Not sure about the bumper and signal kit not working.

Not to dissuade you from BRP accessories but if you are handy and like to do things to your machine one could save about $200 installing Tusk aftermarket heated grips or at least $100 installing a set of Heat Demons. When I checked BRP wanted close to $300 for their signal / horn kit, I picked up all the parts off Amazon for $50 and wired it up myself. The way I did my signal kit would work with your bumper.

Get the Symtec Heat Deamons for the hand/thumb. They make the BRP ones and don't have the cheap plastic controller that's always broken! Plus they are less $$$!

X2 on the heat demons. Also, I talked with a rider who had the deluxe mirrows, he was not impressed, lots of vibration and they are mounted low too. I have the BRP handle bar mirror set, they work well, plus they are still there if I decide to go without the fairing.

I mounted an AMPS rugged mount for my Montana 600 dead center on the fairing.

I just use the cheap Kolpin mirrors on mine, screwed the left into the mount on the brake reservoir and picked up a handlebar mount off Amazon for the right side.

I agree the deluxe mirrors sit too low on my fairing. I have my mirrors tilted up and out to the max and I can barely see behind. They tend to vibrate down after a few minutes and need readjusting. If you are 5'2" they might be okay I might try putting a couple of washers under the bottom screws raise the viewing area. The powered mount for the montana is close to 200 from the dealer. I got mine from Amazon for $35. The fairing is a bit of a pain to disassemble to install the powered mount and mirrors and reassembled is worse. The fairing fits any of the 3 heights of windshields.

Thanks for all the replies. I didn't know there were so many aftermarket companies that make parts for ATVs. In my experience with cars, I have found the OEM parts seem to always fit best and provide the best performance. I figured with ATVs, that Can-Am parts would fit best. I like how a lot of their stuff looks modular/plug n play, and I really liked that. The Can-Am turn signals didn't look like there was much splicing. The Can-Am heated hand grips/throttle combo looks like those are pretty modular too with plugs for everything. As a takeaway from your posts, it sounds like the deluxe fairing mirrors suck, so thanks for the tips on those.

With heated grips all one has to do is power them up, other then that there a self contained system. On the Outlander there are two accessory plugs that are hooked to the ignition so they only power on when the key is on. One plug is located under the gauge pod and the other is located under the seat behind the right side plastics. There are a couple posts on this forum on where to find the plugs as well as were to order the other end of the plug, I just cut the factory plug off and wired in my stuff.

I think the BRP blinker kit is the whole harness that just plugs into the front accessory plug for power. I didn't splice into anything except power when I did my blinkers, as its totally separate wiring from the ATV's wiring.

Here is a link to my post showing my blinker install.

Few mods I have done over the last couple weeks.
