what are the best places to buy aftermarket parts? im looking at maybe a clutch kit, would that help with low end torque.
also, what is the max RPM? i was in H and trying to hit top speeds and could only get her up to 4500ish...i only have around 200 yards of straight away but i thought i could get her up more..
overall i really like her still, a big upgrade from the honda recon 350 i used to ride.....i love the digital dash and the winch, as well as the slick camo paintjob and the good suspension over big bumps..
Thats not normal. Mine goes all the way up to 7000rpm the moment you push the throttle "down".
Theres a Dalton clutch kit thats not very expensive that may improve the low torque.
Congratulations on the new bike, enjoy it and read the forum, very useful information here.

Do you have the measures to make the front spacers??

i got to open her up a bit more today..and able to get her RPMs up into the 6s before i had to slow down....
man she took some rough terrain today like a champ...we were going down steep mountain inclines, over logs, and then back up a steep river...quite the sight! wish i had a gopro, it was raining so we were driving up current in a steep stream, i felt like a salmon lol. and the trees were so dense, old, and untouched they were covered in green moss....its pretty unaccessible and would be quite a workout to walk up...il try to get pictures next run..
she sure is dirty now....
she just needs more low end torque for uphill in L...my friends honda foreman 450 was taking the uphills faster, plus his is a manual so he was able to use 1st gear better, the CVT wasnt taking some of the rough uphills, there were sections that were only 5 feet wide between trees and boulders, with LOTS of mud....felt kinda bad taking my can am through such terrain and she doesnt even ahve 5 miles yet...i have been kinda babying her kept the RPMs around 3k and rarely went above 4500 for too long.
i cannot find any information about DIY 10hr maintenance, i want to visually inspect the belts and intakes..

You certainly have some issues if your complaint is about low end torque and unable to clime with forman 450. Tak it to the dealer and get it checked out.

well to be fair i was kinda babying the RPMs while my friend was probably redlining his honda450....it does take sharp uphills pretty good, you can instantly feel the 4wd traction and rear wheels lock and kickin when stuck on a big log or steep incline...im not sure how much faster one could go on a rough uphill like our property has
it was raining pretty hard so the ATV got soaked...i want to visually check the intake for water but i cant find it for the life of me?
it doesnt have any check engine light or excess temp, or any burning rubber smell...it runs reallly nice on straight aways you can instantly feel the mid to high range power when you push the RPMs up to 6k in H..
just in Low range from about 1500-3k on steep uphills she wasnt grabbing as fast or hard as my friends 450 with manual clutch....he was redlining 1st gear, while the outlander has the CVT so may take a bit to kick in?

That just doesn't sound right. I have a 2010 500 max, and even with two people on it, it'll jerk your head off at full tilt when going slow. Especially in low range.

I have a 500 outlander XT and there is a noise coming from the front end at around 12 kilometres per hour. It seems to go when 4 x 4 is engaged. Any clues?

Just traded my Can Am 650 on a 500XT, first impressions are all good. I use mine for work and the less responsive low end a bit of a bonus over the 650 ( for me anyway!!) allowing a bit more precision at low speed without being blown away. It's hard to notice all that much difference to the 650 when the revs are up a bit, while I'm not a "power" user as such, the 500 seems to perform very, very well although maybe not quiet as comfortable as the 650 (why? is it the McP. struts v the A-arm ?) Also waiting on a 500 XT Max to replace my Polaris 550 XP, the Polaris is great to use and a very comfortable machine and as a work unit hard to fault except it burns "clutches" every 400 hrs ( apparently a lot of stop/start works causes the problem ie as in moving sheep or cattle) , just too much down time and expense. First time in 20 yrs I won't have a Polaris so a bit of sadness and a bit of expectation for the future. Both will carry the under body protection, radiator guard, windshield etc. I do about 500hrs a year ( equates to about 5000kms/yr)
Regards
Hugh
