front differential fluid?

front differential fluid?

After pulling out the front axle for a CV boot repair, i got quit a bit of fluid run out from the housing. I would say at least a "half glassful"
is this normal and any tip to refill?

I would say you got some water in there. The diff fluid should not leak out by replacing the cv. There should only be grease in the joint, no liquid. Just a thought.

I disagree, just look at the height of the fill hole.
When I have to change a front boot, I jack up the wheeler on one side and angle it left to right. This helps keep the fluid in.

Ditto, but still get a little seepage.

It was not water. I am not sure why I got some fluid run out but I just topped it back off after finishing the CV boot job.
