Renegade 1000 X XC or Renegade 1000?
Hey guys, I'm new to the forums, and BRP products. I'm going to be purchasing a Renegade 1000. I like the look of the X XC (Black and yellow) over the regular 1000. I was thinking about just ordering the X XC plastics for about $450 bucks, to save about $2000 dollars. My question is, are the upgraded shocks that much better? Aren't they both FOX products? What about the power steering? Is it worth it? Thanks.

The X XC is more than plastics! The fox podium X shocks are well worth it. Plus the power-steering, Visco-lok QE, skid-plate.... Well worth the 2500$.

X XC for sure
I went back and forth too, but I am so glad that I bought the X XC just for the power steering alone. It's the one thing you can't do later as an upgrade without a whole pile of work. In fact I was told it was not possible. I don't think anything is impossible with enough time and money. Power Sterring!

Josh, I really do appreciate the feedback! I still am hesitate on the power steering, simply because I have never owned a quad with it! (Seems like it would take some of the "sport" out of ripping up trails) Also I have heard of the tie-rods on the power steering X XC model being weak?? Not sure if that's true? I just read this on Renelander older post, and boy has this guy have some good info!!! Again thanks.

You won't regret the power-steering, it has three modes (min, med, max) so if you want to have more feedback you can turn it down. I like it a lot better that my older non PS Can-Am, specially when your working her hard in four-by and a tire catches and rips the bars out of your hands, DPS stops this from happening.
Even after a hardcore day of riding with the new X XC, I don't feel as beat up in my upper body with the DPS. Don't worry, no PS will make this machine less sporty, she's a beast!
The tie-rods are weak but it's super cheap to upgrade to chromoly.
Also other things I forgot to mention that comes on the X XC are Beadlock wheels, X package seat, full-wrap handlebar wind deflectors.

That's all I needed to hear Renelander! Going with the X XC! Kinda sucks because I'm paying cash for the bike, and I have enough saved up for the regular one!! I'm getting impatient, and ready to hit the trails!! lol But I guess if your paying this much for a 4-wheeler, might as well get the best, and how you want it! Thanks.

Good to hear!...post pics when you get her,
You won't regret it, specially when you go riding and you'll end up meeting someone with a regular Gade and he'll come up to you and say: Man I should of got the X XC! you'll be glad not to be that guy.
