NO, There is NOT a absolute need for a battery tender if the bike is stored in cool/cold environment!! I am not saying dont get one. It will not hurt to have one on your bike. Yes I did replace my batt but only from a false diagnosis. My original batt has never let me down and it has never been stored in a heated place. It is a 07 model and sits in temps as low as -45 c for months sometimes. My original batt is now in my buddys gade and his bike starts and runs great, even at -20c. No he does not run a tender and no he does not park it in a heated garage. Missinformation is terrible on the internet some times. Glad to here you got your bike going flyboy.

Using a battery tender is not misinformation. Any good mechanic will tell you that discharging a battery is not good!!!!!!
