Ed I think my setup would be perfect with 180# springs on the bottom half.
Guys it's hard to explain the difference riding the Outty with these shocks and with the BRP shocks but it's like riding a different machine. A better, more tuned machine.

I plan on finding out how my Can Am handles with the Bilstein shox, as soon as the dealer comes thru with the fronts, i have the rears. Good to know that i can spring them to my liking, though!

The formula for effective spring rate using two stacked springs is
1/Keff = 1/K1 + 1/K2
180# is 180 lbs / inch if I am not mistaken. So a 180# spring topped with a 70# spring gives an effective spring rate of 50.4#.

Outlandish I will send you a set of 160# out on monday. That will give you more choices on your ride.I would start with 200# pri.160#sec.If its still to stiff for your liking change the pri.to the 180# just return the ones you don't need.
Mikey v the bilsteins the can-am dealer sells are not in anyway the same as what I sell. The springs that i sell will not fit.The only thing they have in common is the name.
One more thing I will giveeveryone 30 day trial period with these shocks. If your not happy just return them for a full refund.THX. Ed

Great! I'ts sure nice to be able todial in to my riding style and comfort preferences instead of a choice of just a couple clicks on the stockers. Thanks Ed

Hi All,
I just got off the phone with Ed, a very smart chassis guy in the Auto racing world and it seems as if he has dedicated some time and thought to this Can-Am shock issue. Lucky for us!!!!
I Bought a set that he says should ship this Friday. I will give my impressions as soon as I get a good trial done. I race aFormula Ford in the northeast and will becrossweighting the 07650 Max XTbefore and after the Crutchfields. I will be preparing a bump steer measurement and correction set-up as well, if there is anyone interested.THe Motion Ratio will be determined and from there can do a pretty good job getting a balanced quad. and maybe do without a steering damper.
More to come
